Dem Sen. Murphy Calls for National Safe Storage Gun Law to Hold Parents ‘Accountable’
Breitbart ^ | 12/05/2021 | Pam Key

Posted on 12/05/2021 8:57:42 AM PST by ChicagoConservative27

Senator Chris Murphy (D-CT) Sunday on CNN’s “State of the Union” called for a national safe storage law when reacting to James and Jennifer Crumbley being charged with involuntary manslaughter after their son 15-year-old Ethan Crumbley was charged for terrorism and murder in the school shooting at Oxford High School in Michigan.

Their idea of a

“national safe storage”

is to have them locked up in a one central fed facility in D.C.

where you might get supervised visiting rights every other holiday
( except 7/4 )

I had just read a few minutes ago, the gun was locked away. I’m holding judgement until the facts come out. All I’m hearing is the lefts side

"I was pondering that just last night, I wonder how many minority
parents have been similarly charged for the lawless actions of their
children?"

Half the mothers of the black thugs in chicago would be locked up.

By saying half, I realize I'm being conservative on my estimate.

How would a law have forced the gun to be locked up? The parents or anyone else who doesn’t care to do so, will still not do so. I keep mine locked up, behind my front and back doors or keep it with me. Of course, we have no one else in the house. When the grandkids come over, we lock them away though.

The problem is life happens, stupid people and even good people make mistakes. It seems like these parents were stupid, criminal and bad.

I am against holding parents as criminally liable for stunts their children pull, like stealing a car, or stealing a weapon and using them in commission of a crime. Leave it to a jury, not to legislative bodies. Jurists can make up their own minds when something goes beyond forgetful, to being criminally culpable.

How about Sen. Murphy offer up a bill protecting Americans from a corrupt and foolish legislative branch?

The school blew it big league...They tired to blame the parents...

I’m going to disagree. The school found the note, thought that it showed the kid appeared to have problems. Had the school not called the parents in, then, yeah, they blew it.

But they did call the parents in, showed them the note, asked them to take their kid home and get him some help. Unless we’re being told something that didn’t happen, the parents said ‘no’.

So does the school go against the parents’ express wishes and suspend him for what appeared to be, at the time, just a creepy note? In hindsight, which is 20:20, we all wish they had.

“Oh, and what states really have an idea of what guns are where?”

With universal gun registration, Hawaii thinks it does.
The police do not have the resources to enforce that law, even for the fools that obey it. Much less check for gun locks.

It isn’t needed and would do nothing. Anybody with a brain stores guns safely now. A law will not make them do it. It is a democratic thing to call for new useless laws everytime an issue shows up in the news. Here is another stupid one.

The school asked them to take their kid home? Smells like BS to me. Since when does the school ask the parents to suspend their own kid or take their kid out of school?

Btw, can I see a link documenting where the school, "Asked" the parents to remove the kid from school?

OK, I did a quick search. This is from CNN, but they are reporting what the school said they did. If you scroll down to the part that says “The Day of the Shooting” you’ll see the details.

But these details have been out there for three or four days. I didn’t base what I wrote on the CNN story. But I haven’t heard anyone deny it.

The arrests of the couple in Michigan seem politically motivated if I might dare to say that.

To drive a new attack on the Second Amendment and supporters of President Trump.

To create an emotional wedge issue to reinspire Democrat voters.

Hey Democrats aka Demoncrats ... if you just prosecuted criminals that engage in gun crimes to the full extent of the law, instead of a low cash or no cash bail justice system, gun crime would substantially decrease.

Same here. Parents might be at fault. If so, they should be held accountable. But I am not entirely sure yet. So we'll find out more in time. Remember four cops were railroaded by the feds in Rodney King's beating case despite being found not guilty by the jury in California? Back then we only had mainstream media. Fortunately today we have alternative sources of media so it's easier to find out the facts on our own.

It appears weapons are far more common in schools that the authorities want us to believe.

When asked to take their child home for the rest of the day, Throne said the student's parents "flatly refused," leaving their son behind to "return to work."

Not buying it. No sale. The school blew it big time.
