The good general doesn't say what the "significant national security interests" are. Because there are NONE.

Zip.

Nada.

Stopping gangster regimes like Russia from gobbling up one country after another is definitely in our interest, even if only indirectly. Russia has already done this bullshit in Georgia (I still remember the photos of regular Georgians chopped to pieces by Russian attack helicopters, and the videos of Russian soldiers burning American flags), has more “separatists” ready in Moldavia and I’m sure in many other countries too, and is already gearing up the Russkie trolls online to explain to us that the invasion we clearly see these monkeys preparing to do for the past few months is in fact the fault of the USA and Ukraine. By responding to Russian aggression, Ukraine and the USA are in fact CAUSING the invasion!

I will note here for all the dumb dumbs:

Hello, Russia still supports communist terrorist groups in South America; Russia supports every single one of our enemies, from Cuba all the way to Iran and North Korea. The Russkies are doing drive bys with their boats to antagonize the Japanese.

You guys hear one bullshit speech by Putin talking about traditional values, and you think it’s for real, even though the Archbishop standing next to him (Kirill) was literally promoting Liberation Theology as recently as 2009 before getting his position. He has a KGB code name! All of Russia is ruled by “former” communists with a ton of actual crimes under their belt, lots of blood and lies and theft, but somehow these psycopaths are reformed because the Soviet Union formally collapsed.

The ‘good general’ can go screw himself. Don’t give a crap what that leftist says. All I know is that we shouldn’t commit one more American serviceman or woman’s life to this global leftist nonsense that only enriches the elite.

What, is this a@@hole Masshole woke ‘general’ gonna warn the Russians of NATO response, or worse US? So, y’know Biden’s puppeteers don’t order a nuke strike, and milli vanilli can “save the country for the CHI-COMS”?

I am personally rooting for Russia to take all of Ukraine, and the sooner, the better.

why? Because ever since the CIA switched Ukraine from a Russian Kleptocracy to an American kleptocracy in 2014, it has been a cancer on the US body politic.

Ukraine and its agents have been at the heart of many domestic political disasters - from Hillary’s server, the the fake Steele Dossier, to phony FISA warrants, to Biden Corruption, to Trump’s ridiculous impeachment. The cancer (and the deep state players who introduced into USA politics) is going to kill the USA.

For the sake of OUR Republic, Ukraine needs to be excised.

During the remaining years of my life, I would like to see the United States have at least 10 years of real peace instead of being constantly at war.

This is a sign of a country going through the death throes of its final collapse and I don’t like it one bit.

How many Euro wars do we need to be in? Europe sucks. Last war they fought without us was Napoleon.

When the Russians threaten NATO, give us a call.

Ukraine is not in Nato. Germany has interests in the gas line coming through Ukraine. They are welcome to roll in the panzers if they wish.

Russia is not going to cut off the spigot of hard cash coming from the west. And now that Biden has driven up the cost of fuel—the biggest export of Russia, Putin is flush with cash. He is not going to lose that.

Eastern Ukraine is pretty much a lost cause. Should we support them with weapon sales? Sure, why not? But sending a single US soldier there is just stupid.

Army General Mark Milley, chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, declined to speculate about the kinds of options the United States might consider in the event of a Russian invasion

The US has three options in the event of a Russian invasion of Ukraine:

1) Do nothing
2) Do nothing
3) Do nothing

It’s probably all Kabuki theater at this point.

Given Ukraine’s current internal political troubles (oligarchs sqabbling and jostling for power, plus their brandy-new IMF deal), and with winter coming*, Putin is likely concerned Zelenskiy may try to wag the dog by pulling a Poroshenko (military provocations against the rebels as a distraction). The “Russian troops amassed near the border!” are actually some 260 clicks away, likely there to discourage such a play rather than poised for imminent ivasion. At least that’s the way it looks to me. (But I’m just a civvie and a female to boot, so what do I know?)

Moving from Russia vs Ukraine and onto the world stage now, the situation allows us to bluster (”NATO is relevant, y’all! — lookie lookie!) and for Putin to push for concessions. (And for Ukraine, Poland and the Baltic to holler for more NATO $ and other forms of aid.)

Apropos of nothing in particular, I came to the conclusion years ago that if you want to start a civil war in some poor benighted country, call the IMF.

[flame resistant coveralls on] I like Putin because he pisses off the Bu$hes, the CIA, the EU, globalists, Hillary, homosexuals, the media, neocons, Obama, pedophiles, Pentagon swamp rats, radical feminists, $oros, “transgenders,” and other assorted vermin. Putin must be doing *something* right to make the aforementioned rat pack hate him!

That’s funny. I thought our “ top “ generals only were concerned about teaching CRT and social equity to the new strain of military personnel!
