This is the astonishing moment a teenage driver desperately waved for help out of her window as a semi-truck dragged her car sideways along a Chicago highway.
Footage recorded on Tuesday at around 11:40 a.m. by a motorist travelling on Interstate 294 northbound, in Cook County near milepost 30.25, shows clouds of dust rising from beneath the truck as it travelled along the road, pulling a 2005 black Honda Accord with it.

Quite a ride.

And the a-hole kept on filming rather than speeding up in front of the truck to signal him to stop.

Teen Driver drives hard into side of semi-tractor trailer, wedging car one third way under the trailer.
It takes a bit for the semi driver to notice and stop on the freeway.
Yes , the semi driver should have noticed sooner. But with that sort of accident, you have to be careful how you stop as well.

The video showed the semi drive going on along for about 30 seconds.
It is a long time for something like that.
Headphones on? On drugs?

Umm, wouldn’t the driver see that in the side mirror or would that be in a blind spot? No sarc...truly asking the question.

I don’t think he was oblivious. While driving on 80/94 in heavy traffic, I was behind a truck and a car with an older woman driving the car. She continually tried to pass the truck on the shoulder. Each time, the truck would drift onto the shoulder to prevent this. Eventually, the woman decides to go for it and the truck moves over crushing the car between the truck and the retaining wall, disabling the car. The truck drove on, as did I.

Filming was the important thing. Rescuing the driver wasn’t important. It is the new normal. One has to use the cp camera. Hell with everything else.

Except the video shows him closing on and then passing the car, and the story describes him getting the truck to pull over.

My question is; The girl did not see a semi-tractor & trailer next to her in the lane she was switching into? She is totally at fault.
Still weird that he was unaware.
To: artichokegrower
So what brought this to an end? How far was she dragged... the video ends with her still being dragged....

The guy slows down and matches the speed of the truck while the passenger keeps filming.
He does eventually get the truck to stop, but no before making sure he got the viral video.
