Americans have started factoring a state's political ideology into their decision to move as the nation grows increasingly polarized.
A survey from Redfin, a real-estate brokerage firm based in Seattle, predicted more people would vote with their feet in 2022, moving to states that align with their political beliefs about abortion, civil rights, mask and vaccine mandates and critical race theory.

Insights: political secession is a waste of time at best, and downright treasonous at worst. And it’s unnecessary. The focus should be on cultural separation and divorce, not political. Politics is a poor tool to achieve desirable ends such as freedom and liberty. Those ends are best achieved by being around lots of similarly minded people. If you aren’t, then now is a great time to fix that situation.
This is a huge country. We can move and Leave the lunatics behind in their cherished cesspools. There is no reason to stick around try to outswim them.
One of the wrinkles of our federal system, though, is that there’s only one presidency and the executive branch has tremendous power. The cultural left never accepted Trump’s victory in 2016. And the same thing will likely happen if and when Trump or someone with similar views wins again. As such, I’m not sure how we can have a purely cultural divorce. The political/cultural left in this country seems to find it impossible to “agree to disagree” with the right. The left must win at everything, or they’re not happy. I don’t see a cultural divorce changing that.
Yeah, but generally speaking if you can withstand the slings and arrows you’ll do fine.
The cultural left never accepted Trump’s victory in 2016.
Neither party accepted Trump’s victory. Graham was in front of cameras publicly threatening Trump just months afer he was elected (without Graham’s vote of course).
I don’t understand what that means. I’m NC.
Chattanooga is nifty:

Power in government comes from compliance. The left understands this implicitly. Our side notsomuch. Although we do sometimes talk about using pretty words like “nullification.” If the left doesn’t like a set of laws, and thinks them contrary to their notions of liberty, what do they do?
Might I point out that possession and sale of marijuana is a federal crime, yet several states have effectively legalized it. Those states have not complied. The federal government has decided that it’s not going to force compliance. Realistically, they can’t. Any prosecutions would have to be done in states where much of the populace would refuse to convict.
Issuing edicts is one thing. Enforcement and obtaining compliance is quite another.
Even though I live in Indiana, upon retirement I’m eyeballing Utah, Wyoming or Montana as my final destination. Thoughts?
Mayors in blues states tell their cops to stand down when black thugs want to burn cities down. Maybe next the thugs will go door to door killing citizens...and corrupt democrat mayors will allow it.
Conservatives who live in blue cities in blue states are nuts.
Yep, the blue states are turning bluer because conservative voters are leaving for red states. Not because liberals are moving to the blue states.
If you look at California’s example, the conversion to one party rule has depended on massive demographic replacement, rather than any big changes in the political philosophy of the original population.
This current wave of internal migration needs to be taken seriously, but just looking at their actions, the Brandon administration threw open the southern border for a reason. One might be able to infer that they believe that they need millions of foreign-born illegal aliens to finally flip the Red states reliably into the blue column.
As soon as the population gets settled geographically along political lines, the country needs to divide.

Well, I just don’t know. Seems the south is the place to go. Conservative and Sun. The cold is just something I cannot deal with. Not cold, not snow, not rain, mud, damp, dirty, .....but that’s just me. I love the sun, the heat, I love to work out in the heat, humidity is good for the skin and Texas Watermelon is just awesome.
As for politics...I guess the states you mentioned are ok. I’m sure you’ll be happy where you end up. I’m in Texas and wouldn’t go anywhere else and if I did....it would be Tennessee which is exploding in growth. Clean, green, conservative, historical, really nice. Good luck!
It means they are purple from northern invasion
Just thinking ...
The bolshies and anarchists took over the federal government without a shooting war.
The South might recapture the nation without a shooting war.
Maybe there is something to that old saw, “The South will rise again!”
Yeah.....Dennis Prager has said the North preserved the nation in the 19th century, the South will save the nation in the 21st century. Let’s hope so.......California is so yesterday.
Style is also a factor. Newcomers 50 years ago didn't like good old boy politics, so they became Republicans. Now the good old boy politicians are likely to be Republicans, and the newcomers gravitate to the Democrats.
I have always told my wife where we were going to live, but we are an exception to the rule. She can leave any time.
Yep.
