“A recent survey found that a staggering 210 million packages vanished from porches across the US over the past 12 months,” reports the New York Post.
“Safewise found that a mind-boggling 64.1% of Americans have been victims of package theft in the last year — a 36% increase from the prior year, according to the survey.”

Had several boxes snatched earlier this year. Hope they enjoyed the feminine hygiene products, deodorant, and bubble gum flavored kids mouthwash. Idiots.
Perhaps we need something like those knife surrender bins in the UK (seriously). You can put stuff in, but need a key to take stuff out.
Anyway, that we are even talking about this is tragic. So much for a civil society.
That’s why garage door openers come now with a guest access code that can allow deliverers to place the package in the garage then close it. It’s a random code so once used it can’t be used again.
When the title said “explode”, I was hoping for retaliatory repercussions to porch thefts with examples.
Any porch package thieves in my neighborhood would be shot on sight... I have no neighbors in sight and my driveway is a 1/2 mile.... Not to mention I have a bucket loader or just let the feral hogs and coyotes do the work.
I had one moron try to steal a package from my house while I was next door talking to my neighbor.
Let’s just say that my neighbor and I had some fun.
I live in a residential neighborhood in a house. I get a lot of things delivered, but as far as I know, nothing has ever been stolen. We still have mailboxes at curbside. I am amazed that we still get our mail during these lawless times. Only a matter of time until that will no longer happen.
The desire on the Left is to destroy civil society.
They think they will be in charge when that happens.
I think they will be surprised to end up in the Gulag or at the business end of violence.
But, they will shrug it off as "some eggs need to be broken to achieve an omelet (of socialism)".
That is the attitude Solzhenitsyn reported from the Soviet Gulags.
I use UPS Store for my packages, or my part-time job.
Theft may be one area where the Moslems have the right idea.
When they gave them a cute name, Porch Pirates, it guaranteed more of it happening. Some groups just follow the Amazon or FedEx truck around.
But there are some solutions: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nDiA4_Hs61A

Yep. The very best thing you can say about Leftists is that they behave like small children with no impulse control. If it feels good at the moment, they do it - even if there are serious long-term negative consequences.
But as you noted, many Leftists want those long-term negative consequences. They mean to remake society along Stalinist lines.
It’s a real pity that most blue-color Democrat voters do not see this.
Ha! In post #9, blue-collar Democrat voters, not blue-color.
Ditto for UPS store. I’ve had a box there for years.
The only problem I have ever had with the box isn’t the fault of UPS. Stamps.com users who send me things sometimes do. The software insists on making my address a PO Box at the main post office downtown. The post office usually had it forwarded.
I learned about this glitch from people I buy from when I checked an order confirmation and saw the problem.
Within a few minutes of talking to them and having the address manually entered, the wrong address would show.
Little things come home. Anything big by UPS or FedEx goes to the store.

I’m guessing with no neighbor in sight for 1/2 mile, you are probably safe.
She should have had her packages delivered to her work address.
