The FBI conducted 187,585 National Instant Criminal Background System (NICS) checks on gun sales and transfers on Black Friday 2021 alone.
The National Shooting Sports Foundation (NSSF) reports the Black Friday 2021 NICS checks surpassed those of 2020, which came in at 186,645.
Moreover, NSSF noted that the FBI performed a total of 687,788 NICS checks during the entire week, including those on Black Friday.
NSSF president Joe Bartozzi commented on the tremendous number of background checks conducted last week:
This figure of over 687,000 background checks is truly remarkable. This year has already been shaping up to be the second strongest year for firearm sales on record, second only to 2020’s record-breaking number of 21 million background checks for a firearm sale. We anticipate, based on annual data, that firearm sales will rise during the final month of the year coinciding with hunting seasons and holiday sales. This figure, though, underscores the appetite for lawful firearm ownership in America and the resilience of the firearm and ammunition industry to meet that demand.
Background checks have been relatively high during 2021, with the number of NICS checks in October proving the be the second-highest number of checks ever for the month of October.
Breitbart News noted similar data for September 2021, which came in with the second-most NICS checks of any September in history.
There were 2,626,389 NICS checks conducted in September, second only to the 2,892,115 conducted in September 2020.
August 2021 and July 2021 both witnessed the second-highest number of NICS checks for their respective months as well.

...or BB holes, as the case may be...
That is true - but the 9th & 10th Amendments were also intended to serve that purpose. The original 'check & balance' on federal power was intended to be the people of the States, acting within and through their States. Madison discussed the possibility of State militias opposing unconstitutional actions by the proposed federal government and its standing army, as he argued for ratification of the new Constitution. (Some constitutional scholars have recognized that the federal military draft may be unconstitutional, because it essentially negates the specifically reserved power of the individual States to appoint the officers of the State militia.) The theory that the separate branches of the federal government (executive, legislative, & judicial) were intended to compose the primary 'check & balance' on unconstitutional federal actions is largely a modern fantasy...
I love that gif! I’m surprised every time I find it that it hasn’t been scrubbed from ‘The Internets’ by the cancel-culture Socialists, LOL!
Secondly, I’ve always wondered when some ‘creative journalist’ is going to start calling ALL weapons, ‘carbines,’ as they LOVE throwing around the term ‘assault rifle’ so much! ;)
“The general consensus is a modern carbine is a semi-automatic rifle with a barrel under 20 inches long that carries up to 30 rounds in a magazine.”
I mean, it FITS their lexicon of ‘scary’ words to use, LOL!
That’s the one! :)
Keep in mind, Joe has repeatedly recommended firing a shotgun THROUGH a door - without knowing for sure who exactly was on the other side. So, any holes in the Oval Office would likely be in one of the doors (with a dead or disgruntled staffer on the outside ;>)...
That is a fantastic data set you’ve put together there! Makes my heart SING and gives me HOPE that we’ll be able to handle whatever Mother Government throws at us!
Secondly, does it surprise anyone that the Enemy Media isn’t touting anything about these 687,788 NICS checks coming back as DENIED?
If they were, wouldn’t they be swinging from the rafters with this info? Or doesn’t NICS keep track of those denied?
And if so, does that mean that even MORE are TRYING to legally get guns, but are being denied?
Questions, questions! :)
Amazingly, I know quite a number of Liberals in Real Life that are hunters and gun owners, so you’re correct on the surge, to some extent. Two guys that hunt out here both had new crossbows and rifles going into this deer season.
My own Mom, who suffered a bout of dementia and inexplicably voted for Brandon this time around (she had NEVER voted for a Lib since JFK!) learned to fire a handgun this year (Glock) at age 84. She loved it and had a great shot pattern for a newbie!
Proud of her!
The NICS checks on Black Friday does not include the guns purchased online. Those guns are shipped to a FFL and will not be reported or checked for several days. In addition, at least in Texas, if you have a carry permit you do not have to be checked on the National NICS data base.
I expect that most new buyers go to a gun store but I would bet that most previous gun owners buy online more so than at the local gun store...
I did a goggle search and was surprised to find that Not all states use the NICS...
“NICS Services
The NICS provides full service to the FFLs in 30 states, five U.S. territories, and the District of Columbia. The NICS provides partial service to seven states. The remaining 13 states perform their own checks through the NICS.”
I don’t fully understand the last sentence as to if those 13 states would be counted...
I hope folks get the appropriate training that goes along with owning a firearm.
Has this fraudulent goverment of ours figured out that people are really pissed off yet?
They. Don’t. Care.
50,000,000 “immigrants” are going to be voting in 2024.
SGAmmo,
I’ll check it out!
Thanks!
“Well done, Patriots! Well. Done.”
Don’t be so sure they are all people who think like us.
They aren’t automatically patriots just because they bought guns.
Leftists are arming up too.
Yep. I get that. :)
There are remedies available to us. Some will not like them, but there are remedies nonetheless.
China is just waiting for Congress to authorize them to deploy all those People’s Liberation Army troops Trudeau has massed at the Canadian border.
I thought WallyWorld was going to stop selling ammo, or maybe they decided to only stop selling the dangerous assault ammo?
Yes, indeed, that is another victory.
I'm sure they keep track but I don't think they report any numbers on that.
