This “variant” may end up being a blessing. The Pavlovian authoritarian response by leaders across the globe will end up looking so silly that even the slow among us will catch on.

Think I am wrong?

Look at the interview(s) this weekend with Fauci. He dropped the mask and brings up Jan 6th and Ted Cruz? He claims that “he is science”?

One might conclude that he knows the truth train is coming...

This could be the Covid Kill Shot. You will be granted natural immunity without the risk of getting badly sick

Let's hope. Some of the reports indicate the patients so far have been primarily young healthy people who would have had mild cases regardless of variant. But one hopeful tidbit I have read is that so far these infections have been primarily in the upper respiratory system. If it never infects the lungs, the immune system won't go crazy trying to kill the virus.

Of course this is all speculation at this point, and we'll know more in a few weeks. I think it's pretty likely Omicron goes into the variant dustbin like Epsilon, Gamma, Lambda and others that never took off.

“It’s still early to say, but not everything that looks bad is really bad. At this point it’s important to collect information, not speculations,” he added.

Obviously not a politician or a media talking head. Speculation is ALL that's important ... to them. Wild-eyed, hair on fire, doomsday speculation.

Good point. HIV has always been an enigma to immunologists. Whatever antibodies are made do not clear the infection and the T cell response is of course impaired and ineffective. There are mutations of HIV. However there is less total HIV in human hosts than the absolute numbers of a more pervasive virus like COVID. Hence the absolute numbers of mutations are less even if the rate of mutation is about the same. There have been mutated HIV strains found that are less or more virulent or communicable. However none of the known or studied HIV strains are vulnerable to the immune system. Also not all RNA viruses behave clinically as HIV.

IMHO this pandemic will only end when there is a COVID mutation that is easily communicable but with little virulence. Then the majority of the susceptible population will become infected and hopefully develop an effective immune response to the more virulent strains. Those virulent strains would then tend to die out due to a lack of suitable hosts.

Thanks for that! An excellent short video describing the causes of the current worldwide insanity.

“...Prof. Dror Mevorach, head of the coronavirus department at Hadassah University Hospital Ein Karem, said the preliminary reports on the clinical condition of people infected with the new variant are encouraging. “If it continues this way, this might be a relatively mild illness compared to the delta variant, and paradoxically, if it takes over, it will lead to lower infection rates,” and it will be easier to deal with globally.

But I think it is people going with what is perceived as the majority.

That is a simplified description of mass hypnosis.

The people who founded this nation would be hanging bodies like old fashioned laundry on a line to dry.

Did you read the whole post? If you’re older and unvaccinated, this guy thinks you could be in trouble.

Not really. It is more commonly referred to as peer pressure.

You’ve been brainwashed into thinking that.

Natural mutations in viruses make them more virile but less deadly. Spanish Flu is still out there, but it has mutated to be no more deadly than a cold, if that.

But there will still be people lined up to take their “booster” because they have been conditioned to be afraid.

Thank you Dr. Freud.

Unfortunately brainwashing does not describe me at all:

Brainwashing is the concept that the human mind can be altered or controlled by certain psychological techniques. Brainwashing is said to reduce its subjects' ability to think critically or independently, to allow the introduction of new, unwanted thoughts and ideas into their minds, as well as to change their attitudes, values and beliefs.

I am able to think critically, otherwise, I would be a liberal or even a moderate, and I would accept whatever someone told me.

Obviously, brainwashing is not what drives my thinking.

On the other-hand, peer pressure is the direct or indirect influence on people of peers, members of social groups with similar interests, experience, or social status. Members of a peer group are more likely to influence a person's beliefs and behavior. That describes liberals and moderates to a T. It even affects some conservatives, as I see examples of that on this board.

I did say that perhaps hypnosis might be to blame, and in some instances I do believe it is a valid assumption, but I think the larger numbers fall into the peer pressure group, than fall into hypnosis or brainwashing, though I do believe brainwashing is probably the 2nd largest group, as peer pressure and brainwashing share a lot in common. They both involve repetition as a form to transform and confirm thought processes are valid when they are not valid at all.

Much of the brainwashing had been implemented in our schools for decades. That brainwashing is confirmed then through peer pressure. Once the brainwashing has been successful, then peer pressure takes over to solidify the group think process.

That’s what I’m thinking. The bigger danger now is the media not letting this go even when it’s over. The way all these so-called journalists have responded to this new variant is sickening. I’m not sure how we do it but the media in particular needs to be reformed.

Peer pressure is just a causative mechanism of mass hypnosis.

Obviously, brainwashing is not what drives my thinking.

I don't think it's that obvious. A critical thinker could recognize a joke and wouldn't respond with a lengthy defensive diatribe.
