The largest utility company in Southern California cut power to thousands of customers across higher elevations of Los Angeles, leaving many households without electricity for Thanksgiving.
Edison International’s Southern California utility cut power to 32,036 residential and commercial building structures in Los Angeles, Orange, Riverside, San Bernardino, and Ventura counties to prevent wind storms from toppling power lines that would stoke fires in the drought-stricken region. The utility projects up to a quarter-million customers could lose service around Los Angeles and San Diego.
...
Edison warned more customers are likely to lose power, and San Diego Gas & Electric, another local utility, could turn off power to 52,000 customers.
...
There were even reports of a crazed liberal university professor starting fires.
Another climate change, global warming fool : Alexandra Souverneva, charged with arson / starting the Fawn Fire in Northern California..

I KNOW!! The screwed up irony of this state and don’t forget the ban on gas powered generators!!! I hate this state!
If the people who design, build and maintain our basic infrastructure can’t keep the lights on then we are truly experiencing the downfall of the American Empire.
I wonder if they can cut power based on party affiliation or racial status?
Ha!
Coming Soon !
No we don’t. Were closed!
re: “They did not stop delivering power out of fear of starting fires, but because it knew it would not have power to deliver once high winds shut down all those wind turbines.”
The usual practice in that case with most utilities is to spread the misery around, via ‘rolling blackouts’ throughout the entire ‘load’ area, and not just target the usual areas subject to fires started by downed power lines ...
NOW THAT RIGHT THERE!!
LOL!
“Don’t clean the underbrush near the lines, just go without electricity when it’s windy.”
There have been power lines up there for 80 years. Perhaps the underbrush has become the problem. Perhaps it’s because there are more people living up there. Perhaps it’s the lawsuit threat against the utilities.
That turkey gets spoiled I would take that SOB right to the nearest democrat household and chuck it right through the window. In a week or so after it gets nice and ripe.
California is A Turd World Country
Didn’t they just get something like 8 inches of rain a few weeks ago?
Our fire was the result of a tree branch traveling a fair distance and shorting a line.
Public Safety Power Shutdowns are a pain and are more a result of power commissions telling power companies what todo like investing in renewables instead of maintaining infrastructure.
On one of the fires I worked, I found a dead chipmunk with his head stuck in a hole. The abject terror it and people experience before such a death must be unimaginable.
However, if you directly asked me if I would go without power so my neighbor or anyone else could forego the terror of a large fast moving fire and or death I would gladly go without.
And they're banning gas-powered portable generators to add to the fun.
Go woke, go broke and sit in the dark on Thanksgiving
That made me laugh!!! I agree…he’ll laugh all the way to the bank.
For your interest.
“Perhaps it’s the lawsuit threat against the utilities.”
BINGO! You win.
Top Google search: “how long does it take to cook a turkey on a Coleman stove?”
Happy Thanksgiving to all except F U to the power companies
