Jamie Dimon is a renowned Wall Street wisecracker but making jokes about China is risque even for the world's top banking executive.
Speaking at a panel discussion at the Boston College Chief Executives Club, Dimon quipped: 'I was just in Hong Kong and I made a joke that the Communist Party is celebrating its hundredth year. So is JP Morgan. I'd make a bet we last longer.'

Hours later, he added: 'I truly regret my recent comment because it's never right to joke about or denigrate any group of people, whether it's a country, its leadership, or any part of a society and culture.
'Speaking in that way can take away from constructive and thoughtful dialogue in society, which is needed now more than ever.'
Dimon has been – until now at least – seen as almost untouchable."
Haha! They spell "emphasize" with an "S"...!
I wouldn’t have apologized.
Like apologizing to Hitler for criticizing his concentration camps. Dimon is a real big man when he dumps on the American middle class but he is like the quiet little mouse when he has to answer to his foreign masters.
That’s a symptom of the WOKE virus, having to apologize for the truth. Tut, tut Jamie. You need to take meds for your intestinal fortitude.
I bet his hands are as soft as a woman’s.
Jamie is a sniveling little sh!t.
“I bet his hands are as soft as a woman’s.”
True story. I was once at a DC Marriot bar and sitting next to me were two US embassy guards for a certain central american country. We starting talking and after I shook hands with each one, the one questioned why I said I was doing X for a living while my hands had rough callouses. I thought “Good counter intel training...”.
I like Dimon. He’s the smartest banker around. JPM has a fair amount at risk in China and shouldn’t have run his mouth.
Yeah, the palms of my hands are like sandpaper. But I’m not a spy.
There is a price to pay for doing business in China. Your dignity and your soul. Sad the number of US corporations that have betrayed their countrymen for a few bucks.
Ok well I did make the one Marine nervous by asking pointed questions about his training with weapons systems such as TOW missles. Lol.
We truly regret quip that the bank would last longer
He is a globalist POS and anyone that likes him must be one too.
Archie: All right, all right, I apologize.
Otto: You’re really sorry!
Archie: I’m really really sorry, I apologize unreservedly.
Otto: You take it back!
Archie: I do, I offer a complete and utter retraction. The imputation was totally without basis in fact, and was in no way fair comment, and was motivated purely by malice, and I deeply regret any distress that my comments may have caused you, or your family, and I hereby undertake not to repeat any such slander at any time in the future.
Otto: OK.
as Otto hangs Archie by his feet, upside down, out a window several stories up….
I loved Otto, great character.
The junta in Beijing is illigetimate.
LOL, yea like most heads of banking and investment firms.
“Merchants have no country. The mere spot they stand on does not constitute so strong an attachment as that from which they draw their gains.”
Thomas Jefferson
Dimon has always been a smart mouthed punk.
While I understand the perceived “China” angle of this—but the reality is that an international bank President should not be making smart ass remarks anyway.
One a little punk...always a little punk.
Unless it's Western Society, the White Race, or American Culture.
Deplorables are "open game."
