It seems the Left cares about borders after all, depending on the border and who crossed it.
Consider Kyle Rittenhouse’s trial and how the continuing progressive slanders about white supremacism and murder always include the unspeakable fact that he crossed the state line with a rifle.
Rittenhouse didn’t cross the state line with a rifle. And if he had, it wouldn’t have been illegal.
Yet when the prosecution’s case imploded, Ben & Jerry’s couldn’t resist tweeting, “How would this trial be going if he was a Black 17 yr old that crossed state lines illegally carrying an AR-15 and shot 3 white protesters?” Joy Reid broadcast her wildly uninformed description of Rittenhouse as a member of the Proud Boys and a vigilante who held an unlawful belief (unlawful in Reid’s view) “that he had the perfect right to cross state lines and protect property with the AR-15 he got because he thought it was cool.” Moments after Rittenhouse’s acquittal, New York mayor Bill DeBlasio was repeating the libel that the teenager “chose to take a gun across state lines and start shooting people.”
Now consider that last week, ten FBI agents with a battering ram showed up before dawn to handcuff the underwear-clad Project Veritas founder James O’Keefe and search his house and cell phone, after having done the same to his fellow journalists. The pretext was a search for Ashley Biden’s diary, but the FBI already knew O’Keefe didn’t have it or have anything to do with its disappearance. Besides, since when does a petty-larceny case local police would manage with a stolen-property report rate a federal investigation?

All leftists (i.e. democrats) demand the use of government at all levels to control, hurt or destroy their enemies.
Any government controlled by democrats is a domestic enemy of the US Constitution.
Short answer: because the magic words “crossed state lines in commission of a crime” automatically creates federal jurisdiction.

His acquittal makes this "crime" non-existent.
When the case originally made the news, there was a distinct possibility that Rittenhouse could have been charged in Federal court as a fugitive because he crossed a state line after committing his alleged "crimes." But there were no grounds to have the Feds involved, for two reasons: (1) Rittenhouse wasn't fleeing (he was going home); and (2) all the evidence indicated that he went home after he tried UNSUCCESSFULLY to turn himself in to the local police in Wisconsin.
Apparently, state lines are sacred, but national borders aren't.
Oh wait, illegals can be flown across state lines in the middle of the night, aided and abetted by the federal government, while in the process of committing one or more crimes.
There’s scores of truly sinister people in this country but nowhere more than those operating in Washington DC.
No, I’m saying that DEMOCRATS want to create an excuse, ANY excuse, to allow the DOJ to step in with federal charges, which is why they keep talking about “crossing state lines”.
Currently, I don’t see any excuse for federal involvement, since all the people Kyle shot were white. It would be a major stretch to charge Kyle with “violating the First Amendment rights of protesters”, since they were violent rioters, but I think they might try.
Yes, his acquittal on all charges saved him. If found guilty of even a minor charge, the feds might have had an excuse to jump in.

BLM, Antifa, and pretty much all lefty protests involves busing in folks from out of state to be part of it.
People travel from hundreds of miles to protest a statue in a town they’ve never been to before.

Jump Kick Man won’t be arrested for what he did to Kyle, but he may already have charges against him for a myriad of other crimes against him. Now I wonder if he will ever be put in trial for those crimes. Arrested, released, no trial. Sounds like JKM might just have the ticket.

We should add “crossed state lines” whenever describing some criminal activity by Democrat politicians where they happen to cross state lines. It’s like adding “hate crime” to some crime that occurs - makes it sound worse.
