WALNUT CREEK (CBS SF) — Dozens of looters swarmed into the Nordstrom store in downtown Walnut Creek Saturday night, terrorizing shoppers, ripping off bag loads of merchandise and ransacking shelves before fleeing in a several vehicles waiting for them on the street.
Walnut Creek Lt. Ryan Hibbs told KPIX 5 that police began receiving calls about the looting at around 9 p.m. He said there were approximately 80 individuals who ran into the store and began looting and smashing shelves.
Video shot at the scene shows the masked looters streaming out of the store, carrying bags and boxes, jumping into the cars.
Dozens of police vehicles also responded to the scene.
Hibbs said officers stopped one vehicle and arrested both suspects — a male and a female — inside. The male was charged with robbery, possession of stolen property, conspiracy to commit burglary and possession of burglary tools. The female was arrested for unlawful possession of a firearm.
Stolen property from the looting and a firearm was recovered from their vehicle.
A third suspect was caught on foot and arrested. He was also charged with robbery, possession of stolen property, conspiracy to commit burglary and possession of burglary tools.
Brett Barrett is one of the managers of P.F. Chang’s restaurant across from the Nordstrom store. He watched as the bedlam unfolded.
“I probably saw 50-80 people in like ski masks with crowbars, a bunch of weapons,” he said. “They were looting the Nordstrom.”
“There was a mob of people,” he continued. “The police were flying in. It was like a scene out of a movie. It was insane.”
Barrett also worried about the safety of the diners in his restaurant. Many crowded around the windows to watch the looters flee.
“I had to start locking the back door. You never know, they could come right in here. It was crazy…All the guests inside were getting concerned. It was a scary scene for a moment.”
If any of the caught suspects are unvaxxed, hope they give em the Death Penalty even in fruit and nut Kalifornia.

“As goes California, so goes the nation.” Never forget that.
“Video shot at the scene shows the masked looters streaming out of the store, carrying bags and boxes, jumping into the cars.”
At least they were courteous enough to be masked.
Since you bring it up, I half worried that people would feel Trump abandoned them with this COVID then Endless Riots. It concerned me that it seemed there wer people on the fence, ready to go “Republican”, but then Trump didn’t go all the way and ensure order everywhere, including possibly arresting the local scum mayors for ignoring it. Right before an election.
Good and Hard!
Where’s Kyle?
“And, just like that, there were no more shopping malls and retail stores in California.”
Every few weeks the local news station or newspaper do a story about certain parts of town being a “food desert” where no grocery stores are located. The usual social justice activists, liberal white ministers, and young woke virtue signalers are trotted out to weep and moan about racism and discrimination against people of color in certain neighborhoods. Usually there are comments about the elderly and children being malnourished due to absence of food resources in the neighborhood.
The reality is, grocery stores once existed in these neighborhoods until the cost of operating them became too high? Why did the operating costs become unacceptable? Frequent shoplifting and robberies by the people who lived in the neighborhood were to blame.
It is a good thing the affluent woke young people and upper middle class progressives, who continuously vote for leftist politician and support communist social justice organizations, are beginning to experience the consequences of their support for the insanity destroying communities and our nation. Perhaps the loss of retail stores, car break-ins, home invasions, and arson will cause them to develop the reasoning skills they clearly were not taught in the expensive elite universities they attended.
Walnut Creek is twenty five miles east of San Francisco.
If you commuted from there by car you need to go through a big tunnel and then go over the San Francisco Bay on the Bay Bridge.
It has a 2% black population and traditionally was one of the suburbs where (mostly white) working folks commuted to SF.
This event was almost the equivalent of a Martian invasion for the old-timers that live and shop there.
Indeed!
Is this not lost on these damn commie enablers? I don’t think it’s much coincidence between the timing of the Scamdemic and BLMing.
Masks made them righteous, and the draconian lockdown situations make them more “restless”.
> Liberal chiefs want to stay on the good side of the Great Reset’s proponents. <
These looters are part of a protected class. So I wonder if the mayors and police chiefs are also worried about lawsuits. Recall that the George Floyd incident cost Minneapolis $27 million (paid to Floyd‘s family).
Stand down, and maybe save the city some money.
so long as they all took less than $1000... what’s the problem?
I hope it all just burns down. At some point people will have enough of it and do something for themselves, maybe. I’m not sure anymore.
I wonder if when it goes so far the system completely breaks down and does not recover?
Was I racist to expect these looters to be Black people?
God-awful.
I always loved Nordstrom. But I’m afraid to find out if they went full-on blatant woke PC.
Nordstrom and Chick-Fil-A were the 2 businesses I held up high. Great product but even more, great impeccable service. Then CFA betrayed us first with the homo thing then, the BLM foot-kissing. I’m afraid to see how Nordstrom has betrayed. After all, it is Seattle based.
I thought they were mostly peaceful demonstrators demanding equitable justice.
Because nothing screams “Justice” like a brand-new Louis Vuitton handbag.
ah, thank you. Pure insanity.
Bunch of Treyvons and Latrinas. Nordstrom doesn’t seem their style but looters gotta loot.
