Nighttime SWAT Raids should be abolished, except maybe for some very serious circumstances, like a mafia nest.
Throwing grenades into an occupied home is another atrocity we can do away with, remember that baby in a crib who got her face blown off by a flash-bang?

If it's a drug raid, turn off the water so they can flush only once, then politely serve them with a search warrant.
If the suspect starts shooting at the police then, that's a solid case.

Florida is an open records state. You can do a search on the Indian River County Clerk of Court website and find all the court cases (local) that Cofee and his dad and his grandfather have been involved in. C.F. (criminal felony) is an all too common description of the reason for their court appearances.

Yes Coffee IV had the right to defend himself and I don’t doubt he believed he was being robbed. Criminals are often targets of other criminals. Especially known drug dealers.

But the community will be a lot safer if he is sentenced and made to serve the maximum time for the gun charge.

I live in Vero and never remember hearing about this case. I do know that there is a crime ridden and scary part of town called Gifford that is where this happened. I drove through there once and was unwilling to go back.
