Would make sense. But logically you'd think they'd want to capture the incident for their own protection. But then maybe afraid to. Another possibility is they are actually sympathetic and didn't want to document something that might incriminate their fellow travelers. As cruddy people are these days wouldn't be surprising.

Well, it’s more difficult to run with the weight of a pro field camera rig (even the modern ‘lightweight’ ones) on your shoulder. Better to swing the weight down and run, which many are taught as part of employee training.

Ouch - that spill looked a little expensive. Camera got the worst end of it. That was one of those stabilized cameras which has the extended hardware making it extra clumsy to move with. Have you ever tangled with one of those - it fights you when you try to make sudden moves. Guarantee that's the big reason that particular fellow took a fall. You try to zig, it's gonna force a zag.

Yup, I’ve played with gyrostabilized rigs, though none that large. They’re a handful if you have to displace.

There's a number of those type cameras here in the county right now. They've been filming the new series of Walker Texas Ranger (on the CW network) and a movie.
