The prosecution for the state against Kyle Rittenhouse committed egregious improprieties with their actions, including the way the questioned Rittenhouse and more importantly the way they handled evidence. Of particular note was the fact that they provided a lower-quality version of the FBI drone video to the defense.
The defense has filed a motion for mistrial with prejudice, meaning that if granted by the judge, there will be no retrial.

Comparing the compressed version of the drone video given to the defense to the HD version the prosecution held, it’s clear that much more could be discerned by the footage the prosecution kept for themselves. The file was over three times larger than the compressed version.

The prosecution didn’t just botch this case. They absolutely murdered it, and while incompetence can be attributed to some of their missteps, this motion makes it clear that at least some of their actions were malicious. A mistrial with prejudice is in order.
Obscuring facts or citing untrue facts will get a lawyer disbarred.
I wonder what took ‘em so long.

Mistrial with prejudice would guarantee massive, destructive rioting/looting in Kenosha and in other major cities. The judge knows this. I wish it didn’t influence him.

In all fairness, right now about everyone is looking for a way to acquit him, but while minimizing the riot after.
Perhaps the best bet would be for the judge to call the governor, to ask for the best date and time to declare a mistrial; as well as to provide state funded hotel lodgings for jurors and their families, with National Guard security over their homes.
And anyone who goes to their homes to trespass, intimidate or assault should be arrested on state anti-lynching laws.
Then, surround the courthouse with National Guard and use them and state police against any rioting.
What if one of the jury was carrying...what if the security guards took out the lawyer.

This Saturday is the opening weekend of Wisconsin’s firearms deer season. More than a half-million mostly very conservative Wisconsites have just stocked-up on ammunition and sighted-in their deer rifles and shotguns. This would not seem to be the best possible time to launch a massive riot.
Agree with a minor quibble. There is no such thing as an "untrue fact". There are things presented as facts which are untrue and willfully doing so is lying.
I hope so too but you can depend on the feds having their charging documents ready to file at a moment’s notice. This won’t end for Kyle, no matter what the decision on the mistrial.
