Four students who were disciplined after a "joke" petition looking to restart slavery was shared on social media are suing the Kansas City school district for civil rights violations.
The lawsuit, filed Friday, stated the students from Park Hill South High School said the posting in September began as a joke between a biracial student and a black student.
The biracial student was expelled and three other students who commented on the petition were suspended for 180 days, according to the Associated Press. All of the students are in the ninth grade and members of the school's football team.
The school district, its principal, the members of the Park Hill School District Board of Education, the district's superintendent and the district's director of student services are all being sued by the students.
The lawsuit said officials violated the students' First Amendment, due process, and equal protection rights. They want to be reinstated and to have the incident expunged from their school records, along with unnamed actual and punitive damages......
After a hearing before the school board, the biracial student was expelled and the other three students were suspended. The Black student was not punished.

Good. These school board members are slow learners and their virtue signaling BS needs severe push back. It needs to cost them. Unfortunately, if the students win, it will likely cost the taxpayers. it should really come out of their salaries.
Hope they win bigly.................But the taxpayers will be the ones to pay, unless the suit calls for personal damages from the individuals on the boards.........................
It should, but they carry insurance for this. Directors and Officers Policy. If they lose, most assuredly their carrier will cancel them or move them into a high premium probationary policy. That’s about all you can do to them.

Yet another example of the humorlessness of wokeism. This reminds me of a man-on-the-street prank by Adam Carolla and Jimmy Kimmel (before the Silverman baud ruined him). They set up a table in a public place — a college campus, I think — and solicited signatures on a petition to “end women’s suffrage.” Young women flocked to sign, thinking it had something to do with beating up females. Finally an older woman walked up and quietly explained that “suffrage” was the right to vote. The coeds looked at her like deer in the headlights.
Democrats restarted slavery years ago, and they have tricked African Americans into voting for Democrats, while they remain in political bondage. White Democrats demand the African Americans vote for them with massive promises they never fulfill, and them intimidate them and call them names (racism) if they leave the party and attempt to punish them (political beatings)
I wonder if the biracial student identified as Black?
Public education is the biggest, most bloated government money pot there is, and its accessible all over the nation, not just in Washington DC

Sadly I doubt this would be a joke if posted on FR. Plenty of men on this site want to take away female Freepers’ right to vote for a second Trump term.

Media made it seem this was white racists kids who were serious.
All the white liberals think it was evil white people who really want to reinstate slavery.
