Onetime White House strategist Stephen Bannon threatened to make the charges against him “the misdemeanor from hell” for the Biden administration as he exited his first court appearance after being indicted for defying a Congressional subpoena.
The Department of Justice on Friday scored an indictment against Bannon after filing two charges of criminal contempt of Congress, saying the former Trump staffer failed to “comply in any way” for a request for documents and a deposition from the House committee investigating the Jan. 6 attack on the Capitol.
“I'm telling you right now, this is going to be the misdemeanor from hell for Merrick Garland, Nancy Pelosi and Joe Biden. ... We’re going on the offense,” he told reporters as he was leaving the courthouse.

Stewart Obama’s Attorney General did and just ignore all subpoenas. Contempt of Congress means nothing. He ignored it so should Bannon.

"“Joe Biden ordered Merrick Garland to prosecute me, from the White House lawn, when he got off Marine One,” Bannon alleged, alluding to a politically-motivated prosecution the likes of which America has never seen."
If accurate, those participating in this "Jan 6 Commission" circus better find a country with a non-extradition policy.

Glad to hear his conditions are “only” surrender of his passport and weekly check-ins. I was worried he’d be barred from War Room broadcasts. I listen to him 3 hours a day.

The difference is that the Justice Department ignored the contempt subpoena that you mentioned, but the same Justice Department indicted Bannon.
I suppose you've noticed, but there's a big double standard in this country.
