Rioters chasing a guy with a gun is not "entirely reasonable". It is entirely stupid.

Trying to kill Rittenhouse with a very large skateboard isn't too bright, either; nor is pointing a gun at Rittenhouse's very smart.

Rittenhouse is a proxy. The prosecution is really arguing that businesses do not have a right to defend themselves when rioters set upon them, regardless of the reasons for the riots.
