The so called subpoena should be moot.
Bannon’s pardon was especially notable given that the prosecution was still in its early stages and any trial was months away. Whereas pardon recipients are conventionally thought of as defendants who have faced justice, often by having served at least some prison time, the pardon nullifies the prosecution and effectively eliminates any prospect for punishment.
Anything possible questions related to 01/06/2021 were made irrelevant by President Trump.   To quote MC Hammer, "Can't Touch This" and the AG is a fool and an idiot.

What other executive powers are inherent to the legislature?

If they do throw Bannon in jail, I would like him to get Morgan Ortegus to co-ordinate the War Room circus. Let all true MAGA politicians blast the POTATUS and the RICO ‘rats.
He’ll be out in short order.

where in the constitution does it state that congress has the right to summon any citizen?

There is no explicit wording to that effect in the Constitution but the Supreme Court has repeatedly upheld the right of Congress to conduct investigations and enforce subpoenas. There are some criminal laws that specify the penalties and procedure if someone does not comply with a Congressional subpoena:

2 U.S.C. § 192

"Every person who having been summoned as a witness by the authority of either House of Congress to give testimony or to produce papers upon any matter under inquiry before either House, or any joint committee established by a joint or concurrent resolution of the two Houses of Congress, or any committee of either House of Congress, willfully makes default, or who, having appeared, refuses to answer any question pertinent to the question under inquiry, shall be deemed guilty of a misdemeanor, punishable by a fine of not more than [$100,000] nor less than $100 and imprisonment in a common jail for not less than one month nor more than twelve months."

2 U.S.C. § 194

"Whenever a witness summoned as mentioned in section 192 of this title fails to appear to testify or fails to produce any books, papers, records, or documents, as required, or whenever any witness so summoned refuses to answer any question pertinent to the subject under inquiry before either House, or any joint committee established by a joint or concurrent resolution of the two Houses of Congress, or any committee or subcommittee of either House of Congress, and the fact of such failure or failures is reported to either House while Congress is in session or when Congress is not in session, a statement of fact constituting such failure is reported to and filed with the President of the Senate or the Speaker of the House, it shall be the duty of the said President of the Senate or Speaker of the House, as the case may be, to certify, and he shall so certify, the statement of facts aforesaid under the seal of the Senate or House, as the case may be, to the appropriate United States attorney, whose duty it shall be to bring the matter before the grand jury for its action."

The whole history of this, including the relevant Supreme Court rulings, and other ways Congress can enforce subpoenas is discussed here:

"I'm sad today—I will miss his show if he is indeed arrested on Monday."

You are the second poster to indicate that Bannon will be arrested Monday or be allowed to turn himself in on Monday. Have I missed something. I would not be surprised if they arrest him over the weekend absent some agreement otherwise

The inherent power of Congress is to subpoena for info that would faclilitate legislating.

Which is one reason this committee is illegitimate, it is acting as LEO investigation, not as legislative education.

At any rate, the inherent power to subpoena can be and is abused, and the rest of the system goes along with it, showing that the rest of the system is illegitimate too.

There is a moral obligation to reject illegitimate orders.

Thanks for the info. If they don’t indict any of the others that have decided to ignore their subpoenas, then it would be hard for the DOJ to justify why they only chose to go after Bannon. I know it’s because they’re still pissed off that President Trump pardoned him.

There is no duty to be even handed or consistent in exercise of discrection. Discretion can be and is willy nilly - go after enemies and blind eye to allies is legal as can be.

Maybe Kayleigh.

Apologies. I thought you were defending as inherent the power of the legislature to act as a LEO.

Now will the judicial put him in the DC jail, with the 1/6 Patriots, and hold him on no bail? Would not surprise me in this banana republic. Don’t forget Cheney has a hand in this and she must be defeated.

I’m more concerned about the depth of infestation in hidden and unaccountable places.

The steal is impossible without that infestation, and even if we fix the steal process going forward (I have my doubts on that), the rot is capable of ruining the country a hundred other ways.

The anger is a good thing, hold it until it has a clear channel to be effective. Strength in numbers, don’t go it alone, and don’t trust the system.

I expect the judge, as a condition for bail, to cease his daily broadcast and to not talk publicly about his charges. Also I expect he will be ordered to not use the internet or to watch/listen to any news programs, (the rules placed on the J6 defendants).

This would immediately cause an appeal of the conditions, maybe all the way to the USSC.

fauchi is an enemy of the world...and we are included.. try to get the masses to believe that! wear masks... the masses obeyed.. get the vaccine... too many obeyed.. if you know who fauchi is, what did he have to do with what they are injecting into people? we have lived a fairly safe life in the US.. who do we trust... yes, the infestation is deep and how can it be eradicated... fire every last one?
it’s a spiritual battle and from where I came from, years ago... this day is infested with something we did not have then. it’s anger...it’s rude behavior... it’s lying.. it’s doing whatever it takes to get what they want.. and it’s the ignorance of the people on what communism is... we are dying on the vine... Trump was a hope...so they took him out..

I’m a fighter and I can do nothing about the corruption.. the unfairness... the justice dept and all of gov siding with the evil side!

Most polls indicate the majority of Americans are contemptuous of Congress.

If this is a “Class Action” contempt of Congress indictment, count me in.
