Petrochemicals derived from oil and natural gas make the manufacturing of over 6,000 everyday products and high-tech devices possible. Major petrochemicals—including ethylene, propylene, acetylene, benzene, and toluene, as well as natural gas constituents like methane, propane, and ethane—are the feedstock chemicals for the production of many of the items we use and depend on every day. Modern life relies on the availability of these products that are made in the United States and across the globe. We zero in on some of these common household and commercial products below. The list may surprise you!

Show this to your lib friends and ask them how they will do without all these products.
Bingo.
They left out my favorite:
Vinyl Record Albums!
tampons
these may have been on that list, directly or indirectly, but those gazillions of plastic bags that we get every time we go to a grocery store, or big box store, etc. are made from some sort of petroleum product(s)....have these foaming-at-the-mouth, howling-at-the-moon nutjobs though about that...do away with fossil fuels and then what....??
(As President George W.Bush supposedly said after he had met with the newly-inaugurated President Obama, “These people don’t have a clue....”)
I remember an annual report from Cincinnati Milacron that used to make machine tools like lathes and milling machines. That annual report said they were changing their focus to plastics forming machines.
Just looked them up. They’ve changed their name to just Milacron (take that, Cincinnati!) and manufacture only plastics forming machines. Maybe they spun off their machine tool part. Machine tools have also evolved into computer controlled machines. Check out some youtubes on how steel is machined now.

The Left wants US to live in the stone age.
They, of course, will have all the conveniences they want. Just like the nomenklatura.
Thanks, saving.

Yes, you gotta love their ideas: “You need to stop using all these parts of the planet and live a crappy life, because using all these parts of the planet is killing the planet.”
Don’t look for the high carbon footprint private jets to be grounded anytime soon. That’s how liberals get around.
I thought of this today as I opened a new jar of homemade made jelly. Thank petroleum for paraffin wax

Oil and natural gas are completely natural. Organic.
Nothing artificial there!
If we do not use them, they will all leak, naturally, into the environment.
See e.g La Brea pits, remnant of ancient natural oil leaks.
I love organic fuels.
Great stuff!
Yes, it all comes from the Earth, all natural! So it must be all Organic.
