The judge needs the original equipment and all digital copies of the information that they gleaned from the device(s). He might get the device(s) but they’ll never turn over the any and all copies they’ve already made.

This is why the judge's order may be two little, too late. They've (FBI) already cloned what was stored, and will now harass any contacts and/or fabricate crimes against those contacts.
Unless of course, the judge adds something akin the Don Corleone's statement to the other mob bosses regarding the contacts in the list:
"I'm a superstitious man, and if some unlucky accident should befall Michael - if he is to be shot in the head by a police officer, or be found hung dead in a jail cell... or if he should be struck by a bolt of lightning - then I'm going to blame some of the people in this room; and then I do not forgive."
Project Veritas is already involved in litigation with the NYT. This "incident" cannot be helpful to the NYT.

The FIB will need to generate a memo to order that data extraction activity be stopped. The signature and approval process will take as long as needed to complete the extraction.
That is the very definition of ‘political’...................
Everything on his phones, computers, tablets, SD cards and thumb drives, was downloaded within minutes and safely tucked away in government computer file never to be erased............
