On Thursday, CNN political analyst Carl Bernstein reacted to a report that the select committee investigating the January 6 riot at the U.S. Capitol was interested in a group of people in former Vice President Mike Pence’s inner circle.
Bernstein asserted on “New Day” that the riot was “a conspiracy like none other in the United States.” He argued that what took place on January 6 was “the most grievous assault on democracy since the Confederacy and the Civil War.”

It never ceases to amaze me when I see such statements. I can only conclude that either Bernstein is lying in a way that is incomprehensible to me, or that we really do see things that differently. Kind of like the blue dress/white dress thing.

There was a video out there which depicted a Russian Oligarch watching the Jan 6th “Insurrection.”
He was laughing his azz off... “where are the tanks? The fires? Where is the sound of gunfire? Smoke? Why are they walking inside the ropes? My goodness, they staying inside the ropes as if they are on a tour! This is NOT an insurrection. I don’t know what it is, but it is NOT a coup or overthrow of the government.”
I saw it one time and haven’t been able to find it again. I’m kicking myself for not saving it.

As an aside, I had personal dealings with Bernstein via multiple phone calls and face-to-face during a CES show as an exhibitor. As the importer/distributor of high end audio equipment, Bernstein literally wanted me to give him a French 4-piece $60k CD Player....’cuz he’s so special.

Bernstein has come out of his alcoholism to become the government shill that he once hated. Bernstein is the mediocre member of the Woodward and Bernstein team that helped bring to light the Watergate scandal and the end of the Vietnam war. Bernstein was never the smart one. He was never a real journalist. But he did let some members of government leak to him about other members of government. That was his talent. He picked up the phone. Now those members of government known as the swamp have Bernstein on speed dial because he does not need to check sources or logic or facts. He is old enough to just say his opinion which is always swampish.
