Today they are expected to bring in a witness that will impeach Gaige Grosskreutz' testimony claiming that he did not say that he wished that he would have emptied his gun into Kyle Rittenhouse."
It should be a lively day on the stand.
I imagine that Kyle will continue to smile and look relaxed during the trial knowing that the prosecutors are total idiots, and that Judge Schroeder will continue to make humorous insertions from the bench (probably because he already knows how this trial will end with a directed verdict of innocence).
As Hawk Harrelson used to say, "Sit back, relax, and strap it down" cuz' no doubt this one is going to get jiggy.
THAT’S the name I was looking for! Thank you
This prosecutor was even accused of witness tampering FROM HIS OWN WITNESS.
I was going to ask the same thing - what was the point of the amount of damage- was it $450,000 or 2.5 millions?
What does it matter to THIS case...???
If this actually goes to the jury I would walk into the jury room, discuss it for 30 seconds and walk right back out. NOT GUILTY.
The D.A. might be planning to charge Sam and Sal with some crime and are just looking for some testimony that they can use against them. Brown lives don’t matter to them.
I don’t know the makeup of the jury, but if there are anti-2nd amendment types on the jury, one might believe his bringing the gun was the cause of the deaths therefore he is responsible if not homocide, then reckless endangerment. That plus the attempting doxing of the jurors, leads me to believe it will not be an acquittal, but a hung jury..
This is Kenosha . . . how many AntiFa-minded people do you expect they would find living there?
Most hollow point .223 ammo I have loaded are for precision shooting. An HPBT (hollow point boat tail) bullet has a higher ballistic coefficient and (arguably) flies truer than a FMJ. For those who use an AR-15 for a home defense gun, you can buy HPBT ammo, but its probably not designed as defensive ammo. You can also buy soft point ammo, generally designed for hunting with the AR, with the idea that a soft point will not penetrate as much (or as many walls) as a FMJ.
Having said that, there is data and a school of thought that FMJ is fine for home defense because, as anyone who has experience shooting 223 might know, a 223 bullet in flight can be deflected by as little as a brush twig, so passing through a house wall is likely to tumble and deflect the bullet trajectory as much or more effectively than using a hollow point or soft point. I personally use soft point 223 for my AR platforms that are staged for home defense, but I wouldnt stop to change a mag if I picked it up with FMJ.
If this were Saint Louis we would discussing a totally different outcome of this trial. Kyle would not stand a chance.
No, I’m pro-second amendment but know types who look at things that way.
I know nominally pro-2A liberals who think that way. The press has done a masterful job of indoctrinating and misleading.
Jury is the last word only when it acquits. Otherwise the judge can be the last word. Just saying, hung jury does not necessarily mean mistrial and another go by the DA.
except that it’s the defense that has been going after them
Okay, got my popcorn and am ready for some fisticuffs. Get it on!
“....what was the point of the amount of damage- was it $450,000 or 2.5 millions?”
That guy did not come off as believable and that was probably the point. There is simply no way they didn’t have a ballpark est of damage the next morning, whatever that may be. He was caught in a lie, and kept digging.
CarSource may be concerned about culpability since they basically recruited Kyle.
Bingo.
Thanks. Which makes the prosecutor’s ‘testimony’ incorrect?
Insurance fraud, IMO.
Prosecutor is trying to influence the jury with nasty words in our politically correct world like ‘full metal jacket’ in the same way the left does with ‘assault weapon’. His implication that Kyle should have carried hollow point ammo for his rifle if his intent was defensive is absurd. To accuse him of looking for an opportunity to shoot someone as evidenced by use of FMJ is also absurd.
But no matter what Kyle was doing there (recruited or not) he was chased down by guys with guns = self defense.
This is starting to look a little like the OJ trial when they brought in all these extraneous characters...
“Insurance fraud, IMO.”
Assume that will be tapped. How much Covid $$$ you think they applied for and received?
Good question.
