Today they are expected to bring in a witness that will impeach Gaige Grosskreutz' testimony claiming that he did not say that he wished that he would have emptied his gun into Kyle Rittenhouse."
It should be a lively day on the stand.
I imagine that Kyle will continue to smile and look relaxed during the trial knowing that the prosecutors are total idiots, and that Judge Schroeder will continue to make humorous insertions from the bench (probably because he already knows how this trial will end with a directed verdict of innocence).
As Hawk Harrelson used to say, "Sit back, relax, and strap it down" cuz' no doubt this one is going to get jiggy.
he made it up based on the judge talking to kyle when kyle sat in the witness chair. Standard protocol for ANY defendant taking the stand.
My guess is that take is a reaction to boilerplate language the judge reads to a defendant, before defendant agrees to be a witness.
Judge reads the boilerplate, which is a version of some case law (in this case, Wisconsin Supreme Court, or SCOTUS) holding that failure to advise defendant of his right to abstain from testifying, is grounds for appeal - “reversible error” meaning the appeals court can revers the trial judge because the trial judge screwed up as a matter of law.
The boilerplate language reads like “I urge you to not take the stand, anything you say can be used against you, you may be waiving fifth amendment privilege” and similar.
Kyle just got VERY upset, started crying. Took a 10 minute break to regroup
why?
He has a good case, why is he on the stand?
I don’t think you can fake Kyle’s tears before the break. They may well have sealed his NOT GUILTY verdict.
Shows how scared he was trapped between the cars with a group in front of him and psycho closing in from behind.
He having to relive it. Bless his heart. Cried along with him.
and that one POS ambushed him! that had to scare the hell out of Kyle, coupled with being cornered by the others.
Any reasonable juror has to realize what would have happened if Rosenbaum or Huber was able to take his weapon away from him . . . that mitigates the entire case.
Oh dear Lord, this is heartbreaking!
At that moment I really wished that I could see what was happening over at the jury box. I bet they needed the break also.
Because it’s a self defense case. He has to say he felt his life was danger.
Should be; Guilty even if proven innocent!

I was surprised the defense didn’t ask a cop if in their training, one of the most important lessons is to always keep control of your weapon and never let the bad guy get a hold of it.
or guilt to be determined based on the factor of possible riots (Chauvin).
That would have been reasonable based on the fact that Kyle had received some training with the Grayslake Police Department in Illinois in his junior program.
Rittenhouse breaking down was hard to watch. He was confronted by evil and had to defend himself. Now he has to relive it all over again.
Rittenhouse Is solid gold. A humble, honorable kid who went to help and now wants to tell the truth. Just Wow.
I can’t speak from experience but I’ve read that it is often the case that when a person is in the situation of retelling it from a witness box is not unlike actually reliving it - what with the accompanying stress of the moment.
