Ted Cruz wants Texas to SECEDE if 'things become hopeless' in the US

Sen. Ted Cruz (R-Texas) said that Texas should secede if Democrats "fundamentally" destroy the U.S. but added that "he is not ready to give up on America yet."

"If the Democrats end the filibuster, if they fundamentally destroy the country, if they pack the Supreme Court, if they make D.C. a state, if they federalize elections if they massively expand voter fraud there may come a point where it's hopeless," Cruz said while speaking at an event at Texas A&M last month.

The Republican senator was responding to a question posed by a student in the crowd who asked him how he felt about the Texas secessionist movement.

"I think Texas has a responsibility to the country, and I'm not ready to give up on America. I love this country," he said.

He also added that Texas has an added responsibility to the U.S. as it is currently "an amazing force keeping America from going off the cliff" and "keeping America grounded in the values that built this country."

However, he emphasized that the country isn't at that point where Texas would secede and while he doesn't support the movement, he "understands the sentiment behind it."

"We're not there yet, and if there comes a point where it's hopeless, then I think we take NASA, we take the military, we take the oil," the Texan said.

He jokingly added that popular podcaster Joe Rogan would be president of the newly formed state if it were independent.

The Texas Nationalist Movement or "Texit" has said their mission is "to secure and protect the political, cultural and economic independence of the nation of Texas and to restore and protect a constitutional Republic and the inherent rights of the people of Texas."

The movement's official website stated that this "means that Texans determine our own laws and not 2.5 million unelected bureaucrats in Washington. It means that we get a government that begins and ends at the borders of Texas."

If it happened I imagine a huge out flux of Hispanics to other states, and conservatives from other states rushing into Texas. Such an extraordinary event has many questions such what happens to federal assets and what happens to military men and bases in Texas?

The CW showed what happens when states secede. It didn’t end well last time. A second try would likely end up worse. As in mushroom clouds worse. Power never gives up power voluntarily. So I’ll take a pass on the secession suicide pact, thanks.

Biden actually threatened Americans who disagree with him (us). Topic was his determination to confiscate guns at his pleasure despite criticism.

If Texas leaves—they will not be alone—other states would follow—a new CSA. Wait til they appoint Trump as there new President (To serve for 6 years) with Cruz as VP. When Donald Trump calls for volunteers to defend the new republic from the Federal invasion—will you heed the call and take up arms to save the CSA and the nation? Would Trump even take the job? Yes. Human nature should be considered, particularly the tendency of political leaders to go to the mat when facing a loss of power. What makes you think that a nascent secession movement wouldn’t have it’s leaders rounded up and treated as terrorists?

Exactly what I was thinking. And it won’t only be States in the South either.

And it will cause the breakup of other states, including California. If Texas and other states secede, then California will likely split into several smaller states. Northern California and portions of the valley will become Jefferson. The Dems will be left with the SF Bay Area to Sacramento, and the coast to LA.

If we actually do secede, you can bet that severol States would follow right away, and almost certainly more of them over time. We'd likely end up grabbing large parts of the red States as well, as most of the rural areas are pretty blue and would want to join the new federation.

Currently there are about 13,000 FBI field agents in the entire United States.

Somewhat less for DOJ.

How will they fare against 20 some-odd States where their presence would be discouraged?

This is theorizing a scenario where entire sections of the United States are simply ignoring the yapping dogs in DC.

No one from “red states” would be in the faces of the “leaders” of the blue states, there is nothing to be gained by interfering with activities that are revealing to their residents or occupants what their futures hold at the hands of the prog.

The “blue states” would have to extend themselves into the free “red states” thus creating enormous levels of ill will at such actions.

Essentially they would be ramping up (by orders of magnitude) the already immensely unpopular actions and edicts in the back yards of the very populations that groups of 25 - 35 thousand are currently chanting FJB and LGB over nothing more than face masks.

Paint that attitude of such crowds watching troops in the streets attempting to control entire populations of people that have already decided they will not be held in such contempt by a hostile and unelected government.

Do you think 13,000 woke recent collage grads that comprise the majority of the FPI / DOJ field agents are going to wade into that inferno?

We should extend the invitation to secede on a county by county basis.

While we're at it, since we'd be forming a new country, we should extend the invitation to counties in Canada and Mexico as well.
