Climate change brings irreversible harm to poor countries. At COP26, rich ones face pressure to foot the bill.

The seasons are strange now in Beverly Longid’s home of Cordillera, in the Philippines. The crops don’t ripen at the usual times. The sun beats down hotter than ever before. The springs she always relied on for water have run dry.

Human-caused climate change has taken so much from her people, said Longid, a member of the Indigenous Igorot community. Land from farmers. Food from children’s mouths. Centuries-old rituals are no longer possible because the natural cycles they depend on are gone.

“We hardly contributed to the problem,” Longid said. “But it is us developing nations, us Indigenous people, who bear the brunt of the impacts.”

And she wants compensation for what she has lost.

Funding for “loss and damage” — unavoidable, irreversible harms caused by climate change — has long been a rallying cry of civil society groups and vulnerable nations at international climate talks. But as rising seas, devastating heat waves and shifting seasons claim more lives and livelihoods in parts of the world, the issue has become more of a sticking point than ever at the COP26.

Civil society groups are people who don’t work for a living, don’t want to serve the needy in church missions, yet want to make themselves feel important in about the laziest way possible. They do that by specializing in fussing about others.

Sure.
The great nations of the world will fix the Third World’s problem.
All they have to do is surrender their sovereignty to us and be governed by us.
Otherwise they can go to hell.

My former neighbor had an iguana.

It loved temperatures around 80 degrees, the temperature found in tropical regions with full natural tree cover.

Climate is mean. It only goes after the poor countries and is nice to the rich ones.

Look at this:

and then tell me who the worst offender is. You can click-and-drag the globe and clicking on “Earth” presents other views. I think China and India have some work to do before I want to start spending our tax dollars on cleaning the air.

Problem is, there has been no measurable, statistically significant climate change anywhere in the last century.

Notice how tyrants in waiting get away with lying? Remember Climategate?

A week after my colleague James Delingpole , on his Telegraph blog, coined the term "Climategate" to describe the scandal revealed by the leaked emails from the University of East Anglia’s Climatic Research Unit, Google was showing that the word now appears across the internet more than nine million times. But in all these acres of electronic coverage, one hugely relevant point about these thousands of documents has largely been missed.

The reason why even the Guardian’s George Monbiot has expressed total shock and dismay at the picture revealed by the documents is that their authors are not just any old bunch of academics. Their importance cannot be overestimated, What we are looking at here is the small group of scientists who have for years been more influential in driving the worldwide alarm over global warming than any others, not least through the role they play at the heart of the UN’s Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC).

Completely false narrative the global-commies are pushing. And some people are ignorant enough and stupid enough to fall for it.

Foreign money keeps warlords and tyrants going. Without it, common people would eventually overthrow them and begin solving their own problems.

Yeah try arguing to your average college professor about how climate change/global warming is a sham, or that it really hasn’t gotten any warmer. They’ll accuse you of not seeing the big picture, and that [insert region in Africa or some other place in the world that is barely livable to begin with] is starving due to drought conditions. Funny how it’s supposed to be a global problem but it only seems to happen in far away places with naturally extreme weather conditions.

But as rising seas, devastating heat waves and shifting seasons claim more lives and livelihoods in parts of the world,

Where is this actually going on?

Answer: NOwhere.

I must say that these whiners and grifters are very well coached.

I have yet to see ANY one of the so called elites, empty their bank account to support and care for these poor poor people.

Such stupidity. We are getting screwed.
