Iraqi Prime Minister Mustafa al-Kadhimi has said he escaped unhurt after a drone attack on his home inside Baghdad's high-security Green Zone.
A drone laden with explosives struck the building, injuring six of his bodyguards in an apparent assassination attempt, officials said.
Mr Kadhimi called for "calm and restraint from everyone".
The attack, which comes after violent unrest over recent election results, was condemned by both the US and Iran.
Security sources say three drones were used in the attack, launched from near Republic Bridge on the River Tigris, but two were shot down.
No-one has said they carried out the attack, in an area of the city housing many government buildings and foreign embassies.

One of our drones left in Afganistan?
The story also references commercial drones used during a 2017 attack in Mosul.

We’re going to see of of these min’s of attacks.
One attack that is mentioned in the above video describes plywood drones. AI makes them autonomous set and forget targeting
!!
These are hard attacks to prevent. A drone + a pipe bomb outside someone’s window. Easily available tech, and I’m not sure how even a team of body guards would keep the target safe.
I worked on an AI application back in the 90’s in it’s infancy. The guy I worked with then on the project both agreed that this technology could be weaponized in the future and it looks like we were right.
Self awareness software implemented on such platforms will be used in America on soft targets. Forget DC, think power grid, fresh water facilities and toilet paper manufacturing to bring us to our knees
Nearly every rally, protest and march has drones hoovering.
Incredibly dangerous
Doubtful.
Trump dooded it./sarc
Even the way things are now without drones, me maybe 8-12 other folks with the right training and about $500k worth of supplies could make ANY city in the US uninhabitable in one week. 4 days if I was willing to be a prick about things and kill a bunch of people by going after the fresh water first... The bigger the city, the easier the job...
Opaque curtains are becoming a must.
That is why I fill my empty milk gallons with drinking water and hide them under a table. Also, why I have a large number of candles, and firewood in the garage and a hibachi. One week, a piece of cake. Also food for several months. Started that routine when my husband was dying of Alzheimers and trips to the store were becoming harder. The main trick is to use up the old cans before buying replacements.
Really says something when the US and Iran are on the same side
...
toilet paper manufacturing?...Haw Haw.
How is that?
Odumbo had the U.S. Navy land a super-secret drone on a runway in Iran. Iran reverse-engineered it, displaying their version in a parade.
Iraq is far less a threat to the U.S. than Iran.
Drones are audible. Guards with shotguns could take them down in daylight—perhaps without injury to themselves.
Shia versus Sunni attack this time?
