The director of the Monmouth University Polling Institute, Patrick Murray, recently published an Op-Ed for The Star-Ledger apologizing for its final 2021 New Jersey gubernatorial election poll results. The poll showed an inaccurate 11-point victory for incumbent Gov. Phil Murphy over his Republican opponent Jack Ciattarelli in a race as of Nov. 5, 3:49 p.m. ET with 99% in; Murphy is winning by 2.5%.
"I owe an apology to Jack Ciattarelli's campaign," Murray wrote, "and to Phil Murphy's campaign for that matter — because inaccurate public polling can have an impact on fundraising and voter mobilization efforts. But most of all I owe an apology to the voters of New Jersey for information that was at the very least misleading."

How strongly did the GOP support Ciattarelli. I didn’t hear much about this campaign so I wonder if the NRC was assuming a loss and didn’t put much resources behind its candidate. Perhaps more resources would have resulted in a victory instead of a photo finish loss.

The RNC would be foolish to spend even a dime to support a GOP candidate for governor in a state where the Democrats have permanent majorities in both houses of the legislature. New Jersey is a lost cause.

As far as the polling goes, polls have morphed into vehicles for shaping public opinion, and affects how campaigns are run. This guy admits that his polls being off, affected how the campaign was conducted.

It is always described as a mistake when leftists purposely lie about Republicans.
Never accept an apology from the leftist enemy.
And we know the sounds of crickets that would be there if this lying liberal (is there any other?) would have forecast incorrectly for the good (e.g. conservative) candidate?
