Governor Ron DeSantis affirmed on Wednesday during a press conference in West Palm Beach plans to improve election integrity in a widespread effort to clamp down on voter fraud.
DeSantis called upon legislators to enact four principle steps to safeguard elections: establish an Office of Election Crimes and Security, elevate ballot harvesting to a third-degree felony offense, the requirement of timelines for supervisors of elections to clean the voter rolls of ineligible voters, and the prohibition of unsecured drop box locations.
DeSantis’ announcement drew the ire of state Democrats, who were quick to condemn the Governor’s game plan.
“More attacks on voting coming to Florida. Just like in 2020 we had elections last night in our state with no issues” said Representative Anna Eskamani, a Democrat from Florida’s 47th Congressional District on Twitter. “Why does our Governor keep creating partisan chaos. Why can’t we just focus on problems like housing, hunger, taxes, our environment public transportation?”
If formed, DeSantis’ Office of Election Crimes and Security would be a standalone group at the state level dedicated to investigating election crimes in Florida. The group would be comprised of sworn law enforcement officers, investigators, and prosecutors. “I guarantee you this: The first person that gets caught, no one is going to want to do it again after that,” stated DeSantis, also adding that “if potential violators know they will be held accountable, they will be much less likely to engage in improper conduct in the first place.”
DeSantis claims that the Office of Election Crimes and Security would be utilized to alleviate pressure from individual counties that presently have an influx of criminal cases to work through. “Some of these counties, some of them will do the cases,” DeSantis continued. “But that’s not their expertise.

DeSantis is on fire..... great pressers but it goes far beyond that. Florida is filing some very consequential lawsuits in Federal court AND taking action on their own using state resources to address problems.
This guy is a winner. Period.

Common sense election integrity laws closing the fraud loopholes, what’s not to like.
Other red state governors should take note. And do something!
Leftists and media persons (redundant, I know) are the most smug, insufferable, self-important people in existence. I’m wondering when they’re going to start abandoning this inept “Administration” because it’s making them look bad.
This is great, but it is too bad he didn’t add a few more principle steps:
1) Voter rolls purged every four years. Every voter has to re-register every four years with ID
2) ID required to vote
3) The only allowable mail-in voting is absentee voting and that will be allowed only for justifiable causes.

DeSantis is getting out early as he remembers the election of 2018 and the Palm Beach & Broward Counties had ‘troubles’! Both the Governor race (Gillum-D v DeSantis-R) and US Senate race (Nelson-D v Scott-R) ended dependent upon counts from these 2 very Democrat counties two weeks following voting deadline. It was very ugly as neither Election Supervisor for those two counties was eager to give even the legally mandated info at the required times.
The Florida Democrats now complaining? Well there is the saying about shoe fitting and ox being gored!

How can you disenfranchise dead voters?
How can you object to votes being harvested from patients
- who are comatose, or otherwise not functional mentally?
How can you object to one party’s observers being thrown out
- of the election count?
How can you object to voters voting 5-7 times from multiple
- counties and states?
How dare you demand proof of who the voter is?
How can you object to mysterious ‘new finds’ of ballots
- cast for only one party after each election?
How can you object to the same ballots being run through
- the system three times caught on video?
How can you object to people counting ballots after
- official deadlines have passed?
How can you object to ballots being counted when other
- proper procedures haven’t been followed?
How can you object to unlawful changes of the voting rules
- by parties who are not allowed to do so, by law?

The problem things like this is that after the democrats infiltrate it(And they will), then it actually works in their favor. Too bad they just can’t enforce the law with the current justice system.
Fraud is the only way the Democrats can win. Do you think they can actually win on their ideas? Clean up the fraud and Democrats loose about 50% of the their seats.
Democrats are against election integrity. No surprise.
Agree. The real big problem is the Dems are very close to winning elections legitimately in places like GA and FL due to legal immigration and blue state migration. This country is rapidly changing. I grew up in California and have seen this movie before. It has a bad ending for Team USA.

If DeSantis hadn’t fired the Broward and Palm Beach county supervisors of elections in 2019, FL would have ended up in the 2020 Brandon column.
