Geraldo Rivera: Election Results Not a GOP ‘Great Tidal Wave’ — Media’s Is ‘Overstating’

FNC’s Geraldo Rivera said Wednesday on “The Five” that Tuesday’s elections results were not a Republican “tidal wave.”

After clips of MSNBC and CNN hosts reacting to the election of Glenn Youngkin as governor, Rivera said, “The commentators, like Democrats generally, are whiny, they are annoying. I watched. I hate-watched CNN, MSNBC. I watch everybody with the sound off. And the other networks were so gloomy. They were so depressed. They had big frowns. And even everything looked blue and black. They were very depressed. This is not that big a deal.”

He continued, “In my town, in Cleveland, the young progressive beat the old-line Democrat in the runoff for Cleveland mayor. And Issue 24, which would basically defund cops and create a civilian review board, passed overwhelmingly, despite the opposition from me and my radio show and other people who are more in the middle or to the right. So my point is that this is not the great tidal wave, and these media people are overstating what happened.”

Co-host Jesse Watters said, “They rejected defund the police. Long Island Republicans swept Nassau County. Come on, Geraldo.”

Rivera said, “Austin Texas they had a proposition increase the police force it was defeated.”

Media is overstating? The media has not gone nearly as far as Heels Up Harris did when she thought the democrats had it locked up.

He's correct about Cleveland. I sensed no "red wave" here. Dems won all over the place. It was disappointing.

Any “red wave” in Cleveland (my birthplace) is gonna be Commies, not Republicans.

How then do you explain New Jersey? That race was razor thin that the evil rats had to crank up the cheating machines to pull Murphy over the finishing line. Gerardo is so full of hot moldy air.

Kind of makes it look like maybe Biden DIDN’T really win by 10 points, after all...

Young progressive beat the old-line Democrat

That’s like saying Omar beat out Pelosi

Zero net gain

I was just thinking that one day, Geraldo will die, and the MSM will go all crazy about eulogizing him as some kind of hero.

And it will be SO undeserved.

Recently he was defending Merrick Garland for going after parents at school board meetings, said he could see “both sides” of the issue. He is worthless.

hate agreeing with Geraldo but he’s right. Politics is like baseball, momentum is tomorrow’s starting pitching. Local election results turn on so many little things trying to use those results for national projections is really just writing fiction.

That being said there IS a national trend that runs pretty solidly. And it says the party of the sitting president loses seats in the midterms.

Tidal wave? A better analogy is “tip of the iceberg”. A look below the surface will reveal the magnitude of it.

So Geraldo uses Austin, TX and Cleveland, OH as examples? He couldn’t use places that are not completely wacky?

Those ten points came out of the CIA vault...

The theft of 2020 killed political “science” for a generation—it is nothing but voodoo these days.

I liked the show Geraldo had on CNBC when the OJ trial was going on. Other than that, he is a liberal bonehead. He also supposedly sexually assaulted Bette Midler.

Keep believing that, Jerry. The rest of the leftist media is a panic about what happened.
