A friend of Kyle Rittenhouse, who fatally shot two people during Black Lives Matter protests in Kenosha, Wisconsin last year, testified that the teenager was "freaking out" after the shooting.
Dominick Black said in court Tuesday that then-17-year-old Rittenhouse was pale and "really scared" after he fired shots at an Aug. 2020 protest that followed the police-involved shooting of Jacob Blake, a 29-year-old Black man. Black added that Rittenhouse said he had to shoot them because "people were trying to hurt him," according to The Associated Press.
His life is going to be Hell for the next 5-10 years. I speak from experience.
Now that was just mean. Whatever you think of Cheney, Dick was very somber and apologetic for that shooting of his hunting friend. Maybe you should ask if Alec Baldwin is he was freaking out?
Will Dick take Liz hunting anytime soon?
LoL. That does make a good joke. I wish for Liz to suffer a humiliating defeat next year and to live out her days being shamed by Wyoming’s citizens.
No weight on my shoulders.
“His life is going to be Hell for the next 5-10 years. I speak from experience.”
If he gets off completely, then perhaps not. I’ve been in more than one shooting and only one became any kind of issue because I went after the perps.
Damn. Of COURSE the guy was freaked out. Good God, any NORMAL person would be traumatized by that, never mind a 17 year old guy.
I hit a cyclist a few years back, and even though it wasn’t my fault, I had flashbacks for nearly a year, every time I closed my eyes or wasn’t thinking of something else, I could see a little video playing in my mind, of the guy somersaulting over my car in front of my eyes in super slow motion, open black mouth, bare cyclist legs, toe-locking shoes, the touring bike in back of him rotating in tandem with his rotating body flying through the air.
I don’t see it now. But for a few months it was how my brain filled in any unoccupied time.
Then, about a year later, that wasn’t happening, and someone recommended that I watch a series called “Better Call Saul” and I was happily watching the opening scene of the first episode, and the guy was driving down a residential street, turning this way and that, when BOOM he hits a cyclist.
The camera view, from the backseat looking over his shoulder, the sound of the bike hitting the car, and his body flying through the air really disturbed me to the point I was shaking, my heart was pounding, and I couldn’t even turn off the television fast enough.
And I hadn’t been hurt at all in my collision.
I have zero doubt that poor kid was going through far, far worse since that happened.
I pray for him.
This was a PROSECUTION witness.
Are they trying to throw the case?
>>Rittenhouse was pale and “really scared” after he fired shots
Adrenaline surges can have that effect.
Three different goons tried to kill this kid.
That would freak out anyone.
I’m not following the trial too closely, but from what I have seen it appears he got a fair judge. I hope that bodes well for him.
If Rittenhouse is, rightly, found not guilty, that won’t stop the harassment he will face. For example, I think he had ambitions toward the military. How do you think he will fare there?
Kyle’s life is a train wreck for the foreseeable future, when he should be acknowledged as a hero.
I didn’t see which lawyer asked Black about this. If it was the prosecutor then he is doing an awful job by showing Rittenhouse was scared and remorseful.
You’d have to be seriously experienced and calloused not to freak out after that. Aside from the pump and dump, the reality of what just happened will take years to overcome
It extends well beyond any trial. I spent years with depression and alcoholism. I was finally treated for PTSD and learned some coping skills. I still have nightmares.
said he had to shoot them because “people were trying to hurt him,”

Another way to say hurt is Bodily Harm.
If I have a gun and someone is trying to hurt me they should expect me to protect myself from bodily harm.
The judge is an odd duck, but yes, he seems fair.
