Rep. Jon Lancaster, elected to the state House of Representatives in 2019 as a Democrat, is the latest to switch affiliation to the Republican Party, adding to the GOP’s legislative supermajority.
Lancaster’s defection was a bit surprising in that so many legislators have switched over the past two decades that it almost appeared that there were none left to change parties. There are now at least 12 current members of the House of Representatives who were elected as Democrats but are no longer serving as Democrats.

When the wind shifts they will change back. Use them while you can but never trust them.
Probably had to be pro allowing
men-pretending-to-be-women going in the girls bathrooms at schools in Mississippi.
a Dummycrat is still a Dummycrat. God knows how many RINOS we have in the GOP and one thing I hate are “switchers” from one party to another. MS already has a supermajority and adding another is not needed.
Good news, maybe. I always take these conversions with a big grain of salt.
I always feel this is the strongest indicator of ‘I’m not gonna have a job if I don’t switch sides’.
Until he does something good for Republicans, think of him as a double agent.
See my Screen name.
Many of us are legitimate “switchers
I think there are some issues that will cause a person to change parties, in particular from Democrat to Republican.
Allowing males who declare themselves females and then to be able use girl’s bathrooms or shower with them is such an issue. All I can say is “Welcome to the Republican Party.”
It is unlikely they will swithch back-the “Rat Party” has moved to far to the left for many bread and butter Democrats.
First I’ve heard of this. Is the MSM, other than FOX, reporting this?
>>a Dummycrat is still a Dummycrat.
Ronald Reagan was a Democrat once upon a time.
Oh. Great. Another liberal Repugnant.
Thanks for the switch….now we will primary you to retirement….
53% Conservative rating from the ACU in his first year in 2020. Won by 8% in 2019.
The MS Dem party is almost entirely Black now. Very few Whites left at the legislative level. Of the 45 House Dems, only 6 are White (down from 7 with this guy’s switch). 4 of them are in GOP-leaning seats and 2 of them will likely elect Blacks when they retire. Out of 14 Senate Dems, just two are White.
So not a single white lgbtqwerty Dem district in the entire legislature?
Must be nice!
Well, you never know.
The winds aren’t gonna shift in Mississippi.
