Former President Donald Trump was very critical of the inflationary trend under the Biden administration during an interview with FNC’s Jeanine Pirro.
During the interview that aired on Saturday evening, Trump said he could get average prices down significantly but predicted prices could head north of $10 a gallon \ .Partial transcript as follows:
PIRRO: Now, the prices of beef are up 17.6%. The average American family is spending an extra $175.00 a month. Gas prices are up to $7.00 in California, $5.00 dollars in New York. We can’t afford — these people.
And Joe Biden, when he was asked about gas prices, what he’s going to do about it, he says, “I don’t see anything that’s going to reduce — significantly reduce gas prices in the near future.”
TRUMP: Incredible.
PIRRO: He doesn’t know.
TRUMP: No, he doesn’t have any idea. Look, one of the things I was most proud of, our country became energy independent. We didn’t need the Middle East. We didn’t need Russia. We didn’t need anybody. We had our own — we had more than them.
We were number one by far over Saudi Arabia and you know this, and Russia. Number one by far. I had the pipelines going, Keystone XL pipeline. Amazingly, I ended the Russian pipeline. I was not good to Russia. I got along well with Russia, I got along well with Putin, but they weren’t happy with Trump. I can tell you that.
But Biden opened up this big massive pipeline all over Europe, but he closed down the XL, and I have to say, because you heard it a thousand times. More importantly, we’re energy independent no longer. I was so proud of that.

Mean Tweets.
I guess I’ll hang on to my energy and pipeline stocks.
They also claimed that he was crazy...... despite that, how many of his predictions came true?
I hope gas does not hit 10 bucks a gallon and tend to think it could not, but then again there are a lot of things happening now that I would have never thought possible.
High energy prices will devastate our economy. It impacts everything!
Biden is following orders from his handlers.
It’s very obvious that Biden’s puppet-masters are hell-bent on destroying our constitutional republic.
Tell me how prices can go down when the leases are cancelled, pipeline construction stopped Europe and Pacific Rim countries increasing their purchases?
Plus the dim’s wild spending will result in higher gas taxes. Taxes on gas are a fixed number, not a percent of sales. Therefore inflationary DOT costs will require an increase unless they plow up the roads, as actually happened in some areas during the Great Depression.
I respect Rush, We were lucky to have him, but I don’t think he took into consideration how crazy the dims would get or maybe how soon they would get where they are now.
The only way prices will go down is when ordinary people give up the freedom they now have to live where they please rather than in employer owned housing across the street from their job, as they did before the automobile and cheap fuel became available, as well as the ability to travel freely across the United States as they pleased.
I am old enough to remember those days.
Producers rushing in? Not when the government kicks them out, refuses leases, kills pipelines, etc all in the name of the green new deal.
We are not a market economy, we are a centrally planned command economy and producers are not allowed to rush in.
Rush didn’t live under American revolutionary socialism.
“There’ll be so many producers rushing to get in that the price will naturally decline again.”
They can’t. Biden is right. Oil isn’t a spigot you can just turn on. Years of Green BS has lowered investment in future production. Also, Biden has closed 30% of the available production areas in the USA.
There is no way to “rush in” and produce.
Just filled up my tank this morning...Well almost filled it up. Fourty dollars. Under Trump, 25 filled my tank.
The Rats, the media and the Bush League Republicans.
The reason so little was accomplished during his first two years with a Republican majority was the Republican leadership, McConnell, Cornyn, Ryan, McCarthy.
No offense to California FReepers once again, but how do Dem voting Californians talk about the $7 gas price?
Is it like “I always like the extra hours of daylight in the summer; I can get outside and do things after work.” The inevitable which must be shrugged off?
I believe the part about Trump being able to reduce the price to $2.00 or $2.50 but not the $10.00 per gallon part.
He’s right.
This is the third term of the Kenyanesian Usurpation.
The Constitution was rendered moot on Usurpation Day with the support of ALL of our elected and appointed.
Also these kind of ratbastardpubbies:
And don't forget his "weiner workout buddy"...They look like twin beds eeerrr, twin buds, eerrr, here, you hold my weiner...
He needs to focus on energy, and the result of the mishandling of energy-inflation, illegal immigration, again, and voting rights-making legal voting even a bigger issue.
Then, to top it off, getting rid of the present income tax.
A one time collected retail sales tax, collected at the cash register, and spend only what is brought in this year, next year, minus ten per cent which goes towards dept reduction.
We can go an entire year without collecting any income tax and rely only on import and export taxes for the year. Then transition over to the sales tax.
“Of all the abhorrent taxes, the least is excise tax.” James Madison. Paraphrasing.
“I believe the part about Trump being able to reduce the price to $2.00 or $2.50 but not the $10.00 per gallon part.”
It will be hard to get to $10.00 but where is the top? We are even close yet, I can tell you that. At some point, oil consumption will drop due to the price and that will help the people who can still afford it and those on the edge of affording it, at the expense of those who can’t.
Prices aren’t very high yet, people quickly got used to the cheap prices, just the 70 year chart, oil has been already been much higher than today when adjusted for inflation:
This won’t be pretty. It takes years and a lot of money to get areas ready to produce. We are already producing what is possible under Biden and it isn’t nearly enough.
“The Constitution was rendered moot on Usurpation Day with the support of ALL of our elected and appointed.”
Absolutely. When yellow belly Roberts denied the hearing of the TX Et Al V PA it was rendered completely moot.
There is no longer equal protection. The result is that the states no longer belong as a union. The contract/compact is broken.
Yup. Got some friends that just came back from the delta region. Said that all the fuel is over 5 bucks. And going up daily.
“It’ll never get that high.”
Yep, maybe in euroweenie land where they have plenty of public transport but the US is large and mostly rural and the American people will never put up with these prices.
We might get up to 4.00 gallon but that will be pushing it.
Not this time...they told Biden forget it unless you cut all the regulations you just put on
