A federal appeals court struck down a temporary injunction on Friday that had New York State health care workers able to seek a religious exemption to avoid getting their COVID-19 vaccinations.
Three judges from the US Court of Appeals Second Circuit sided with New York State’s requirement that all health care workers must receive a COVID-19 vaccination regardless of religious beliefs or face termination.
Gov. Kathy Hochul chimed in on the ruling.
“On Day One, I pledged as Governor to battle this pandemic and take bold action to protect the health of all New Yorkers,” Hochul said in a statement.
“I commend the Second Circuit’s findings affirming our first-in-the-nation vaccine mandate, and I will continue to do everything in my power to keep New Yorkers safe.”

Why does anyone “need” a religious exemption “granted” by the govt? I know, rhetorical. Still thinking the “Because I don’t want it!” reason is all that should be needed. 😈🐂💨💩
NYS, like Maine, got rid of religious exemptions to vaccinations back in 2019.

Got some questions for Hochul: What percentage of NYS’s cases are nosocomial? Are vaxxed healthcare workers still being tested regularly? If not, why not? Are you turning NYS’s hospitals into killing fields?

I could have easily got the religious exemption but opted for “I don’t want it”. Lost my job. But friends who did take the RE are asked all sorts of personal questions. HIPPA be damned.
Thankfully retired but still wondering how long before they drill down to us with some sort of coercion. It’s almost like they can’t be trusted. Best of luck if you’re looking.
