GDP, and more: So much for the smug forecasts of experts
American Thinker ^ | 29 Oct, 2021 | Jack Hellner

The Biden administration can convince these so-called experts of anything.

On August 25, the “experts” forecast third quarter GDP growth at 5.7%.

On Sept. 28, the “experts lowered the projected growth to 4%.

On Oct. 28, the first reading of third quarter GDP came out at ... 2%. The experts were so close.

While campaigning for Terry McAuliffe the other night, Joe Biden said the economy was doing great because of his policies and that the U.S. now has more jobs than before the pandemic.

It was trash. I would not say a decelerating economic growth from 6.7% is doing great and we have five million fewer jobs, not more jobs. ( I must have missed the fact checkers correcting this whopper).

The economic experts have not figured out that the government was lying to them. They must have their heads in hole not to realize that the economic forecasts from the FED have been corrupted by politics. Why else were the 0bama reports good and then quietly adjusted downward. Under Trump it was the opposite. The numbers reported were bad, the media went wild over the bad news and then the numbers were quietly adjusted upward. With Bidet we are back to the 0b0z0 days. The FED has learned the games played by “Climate Scientists” to manipulate public opinion.

Just you wait. The Deep State folks will figure out a new way to calculate GDP. Then 2% growth will magically become 6% growth.

And now a word from George Carlin:

With Trump, the experts were always wrong, but their forecasts were lower than reality.

No bias on display here, folks!

There’s that word, “expert” again. I keep hearing it. Does anybody know what it means? /s

There’s the old standby:

An “Ex” is a has-been, and a “Spurt” is a drip under pressure.

Gird your loins, a severe recession is right around the corner. With no toys to sell and thanksgiving being the most expensive in history, consumers are going to stop spending. Throw in inflation, parents being harassed by the FBI, open borders, COVID, and public unions going on strike in the near future, we will be seeing economic and social upheaval not seen since 1929.

This is not just about economics, this will be our republic’s fabric being torn apart. These idiot Dems are playing with fir, especially in the cities. You don’t have the Democrat leaders of the 30’s or 40’s running the cities anymore. They are dangerous marxists.

I liked that saying the way I first learned it many moons, well, years, ago:
X is used in Science and Math to be the unknown,
Spurt is still a drip under pressure.

Expert is an unknown drip under pressure.

Both can work, though.

Stop spending on what exactly? They will stop spending money on IMPORTED low quality products from the 3rd world. This will actual HELP keep $$$$$ in the USA.

So again I ask just how does that hurt US workers and our GDP?

My area of Florida is booming. Nobody is stopping spending any time soon. Consumers won’t change their habits until housing prices take a big hit and the market tanks. No sign of that happening in the near term.

Econometrics are useless, except to tell us what’s already happened. Too many variables. That’s one reason why central planning ALWAYS FAILS.
