I took one week vacation for each kid. Mot of it was at a time when I only had two weeks vacation. Then I went back to work.

Fortunately when my kids were born I had a gig where I could work from home. But even if I went to the office, I’d go stir-crazy after a few days after not working.
Once a company figures out they can do without you for a length of time, well, you know what that means.
Well, it’s not like Butt-gig has a wife at home to take care of the kid. Someone has to do it. Of all the problematic male behaviors, taking time off to look after a child is probably one of the least harmful.

Next door farm wife was pregnant with 5th kid. She was on tractor working fields at 11 AM, when she was taken to hospital-—45 minutes away. Baby born before 1 PM. Back home for dinner.
She was BACK ON TRACTOR next day, with oldest daughter watching new born. She breast fed baby every 2 hours or so...

I used to work at a place that had an extremely gay dude working there (he died of AIDS during the first onslaught of the disease in the mid 80's). He sometimes wore a T-shirt that read "Bend over & take it like a man" and referred to straight people as "breeders". Something really changed in the years between their calling heteros "breeders" and wanting to be ersatz breeders themselves. I think the gays who are adopting kids are the most screwed up. They are not comfortable in their own skin and are trying (too hard) to appear to be "normal".
