For a defendant to have a fair trial, there are loaded terms that should never be used in a courtroom.
The Wisconsin judge in the murder trial of Kyle Rittenhouse is right about that.
But the word "victim" is not one of them.
And that's where the judge is very wrong.
Frankly, "victim" is no more pejorative than the word "defendant."....
But here's the rub. Two of the men are deceased, and the other has never been charged with a crime for any behavior associated with his participation in the protest.
At best, Rittenhouse, therefore, would be presenting evidence through speculation that their mere presence confirms criminal behavior entirely unrelated to a claim of self-defense. There is no allegation, and Rittenhouse has not claimed, that he was the owner of any property that was stolen or dwelling that was damaged. He merely states that he was patrolling the streets of Kenosha with an AR-15 out of a sense of civic duty.

What is missing from this demogagary and race baiting is the fact this Judge applies the same standard to ALL of his cases.
Imagine that, a Judge actually doing his job instead of politically pande3ring to the race baiters in the Lying Media
I do believe the judge asked the prosecutor that very question.
In US law, an accused person is presumed to be innocent until proven guilty. Rittenhouse’s defense is that he defended himself against people who were attacking and pursing him with intent to do him serious injury, at minimum. To allow the pursuers to be called “victims” is to declare Rittenhouse guilty.
The scary thing here is that Laura Coates is a former federal prosecutor in Washington, DC. Was “guilty because I said so” the standard she used there? Every case she tried should be reviewed.
FUCNN
Fully.
They were victims... of their own evil stupidity.
Correct! Not everybody who is dead or everybody who gets killed is a “victim”.
Those two dirtbags were not victims. They were aggressors also known as perpetrators.
They attempted to use deadly force on the kid and they paid with their worthless lives.
People are seeing how the sausage is made inside a courtroom. Whether you are dealing with propaganda or sales, repetition is a key component in persuasion - a big lie repeated often enough becomes truth. A trial judge has broad discretion in managing how a case is tried - including what arguments in opening or closing can be made or not made or what characterizations in questions can be made or not made. If a Judge makes an error in allowing characterizations that should not have been made, an appellate court will reverse a verdict only if there was a clear abuse of discretion by the trial Judge and the error clearly led to an unjust result. So if you have a biased trial Judge, your screwed because the trial judge’s discretion is broad (Judges rarely criticize each other).
CNN still thinks they control the narrative. They might if they still had viewers.
Eventually CNN will call the Mexicans who stormed the Alamo “victims.”
good tagline candidate
I updated the tagline page

One day a guy got beat to a bloody pulp and left moaning and bleeding along the street.
As it just happened a sociologist and welfare worker were the first to come across the man.
“Oh, that’s terrible!” Lamented the welfare worker.
“Very!” agreed the sociologist, “We must find out who is responsible and get them treatment.”
***Now THAT’s a twist on the Good Samaritan parable.
Have you ever considered that if old Ahab had taken Naboth’s vineyard for a vegetable patch to feed Samaria’s poor that he’d be a hero to the modern so-called “progressives”?
Nope. I have forgotten that story.
There is video of the incident, I remember seeing it. This judge will likely allow it as evidence if it hasn’t been removed. Clearly THEY were chasing HIM. THEY were the aggressors.
Oh. 1 Kings 21,
Well, Ahab was a particularly wicked king of the northern tribes with his capitol in Samaria.
Now, Naboth was his neighbor in Samaria whose inheritance from his fathers was a vineyard. Ahab offered to buy the vineyard but Naboth refused because it was his inheritance. So Jezebel arranged for Naboth to be falsely accused of cursing the king at a banquet and so after Naboth was dead Ahab took possession of the field for a vegetable garden for himself.
While he was inspecting the field he received word from Elisha the Tishbite …
“Then the word of the Lord came to Elijah the Tishbite, saying, “Arise, go down to meet Ahab king of Israel, who lives in Samaria. There he is, in the vineyard of Naboth, where he has gone down to take possession of it. You shall speak to him, saying, ‘Thus says the Lord: “Have you murdered and also taken possession?” ’ And you shall speak to him, saying, ‘Thus says the Lord: “In the place where dogs licked the blood of Naboth, dogs shall lick your blood, even yours.” ’ ”
These “progressives” might condemn the real Ahab, but the fictional version who as the government is generous with other people’s stuff could only win their praise … for they too are “generous” with their votes and other people’s stuff.
The usual far left propaganda and disinformation from CNN?
Yup.
“Kyle was the victim.”
Amen. This is a political persecution.
At the very best, I’d call them stats.
