HAZARD, Ky. (LEX 18) — An investigation is underway after controversial photos from an event at Hazard High School are causing outrage.
As part of homecoming week activities, Tuesday was costume day and a "man pageant" was held. Multiple photos were posted and then taken down from the Hazard High School athletics page. They appear to show scantily clad students giving lap dances to faculty and staff.
Others showed female students dressed in "Hooters" costumes and students and staff appear to spank or paddle each other.
Pictures of the event were posted on the Hazard High School Athletics Facebook page.

Many parents took to social media to address their frustrations. "As a mother myself, I wouldn't want my son involved in such actions," one woman tells LEX 18. Another woman said it's not a representation of what pageants are and found it "demeaning in many ways."
One person featured in the photo was Hazard High School Principal Donald "Happy" Mobelini. He is also the mayor of Hazard.
My High School wasn’t that ‘Cool’.
In Junior High, we were still having Sock-Hops and Shindigs.
And the hits just keep on comin...
Don't nobody bother me. I'm busy sending a resume to the Hazard High School.
Of course he's the mayor. Does he drive the General Lee?
I admit when I was in school, there were times when teaches would spank me. Middle aged women.
Now that privilege costs several hundred dollars. So I've been told.
Sounds like a bunch of staff members there are about to get
an opportunity to test the jobs market in these trying times.
With what WAS going on, I’m shocked they didn’t have mud
wrestling too.
Beyond the implications of the guys dressing like that, and
who for, I’d be very angry to find out my daughter was being
introduced to spankings between her, other students, and
staff.
These folks should not be in a position of leadership over
minor children.
This is evidence of shockingly poor judgement.
I fondly remember the “sock hops” we had in Jr HS and in HS.
What were the nerds doing while all of this was going on, recording it with school A-V equipment?
It’s really gone downhill since them Duke Boys left.
Just so you know, a club at my high school had a slave auction fundraiser. Yep, just what you think it was. Black males stripped to the shorts being auctioned for money to black females.
in Hazard Kentucky????.....unbelievable...Devil Anse Hatfield must be rolling over....
A lot of schools used to do that. The Juniors would be the ‘Slaves’ of the Seniors for a day. Silly, harmless fun.
The Slave might bring the Senior his lunch tray and wait on him. Photos for the Yearbook. No one was sued or required therapy.
What on God’s green earth is happening?????
LOL!
Very funny.
