There are numerous very credible studies from a number of business schools and agencies that show that it’s more expensive for an employer to train a replacement than to keep a veteran. I’m not saying it won’t be painful. I’m saying it’s not impossible.

Our company lost about 30% in the spring. Better pay elsewhere and a bad manager (egotistical and vindictive, plus a pathological liar). Now we are facing the possibility of mandated vaccines. Union is fighting it, but I know they will lose. So, probably another 15% will leave. There will be no talent left to train the newbies. Our recent hires are just warm bodies with zero skills or experience.

Those with SPECIALIZED TRAINING like nurses, technicians, etc are gonna be replaced by ILLEGALS? No way!

The DIM-BULB Dems are risking collapsing the system on top of themselves.

A sure sign that the LEFT doesn't have the brains God gave a goose. ( no offense to geese )

Probably true for IT when they can just crack to doors open a little wider on certain classes of foreign worker visas for needed technical skills. Probably not true for airline pilots in the short or medium term. The supply of skilled nurses, EMT’s & police officers is also pretty inelastic in the short-run. Throw union contracts into the mix and this is where the mandates start to unravel.

EUAs are clear: Getting these vaccines is voluntary

The same section of the Federal Food, Drug, and Cosmetic Act that authorizes the FDA to grant emergency use authorization also requires the secretary of Health and Human Services to “ensure that individuals to whom the product is administered are informed … of the option to accept or refuse administration of the product.”

Likewise, the FDA’s guidance on emergency use authorization of medical products requires the FDA to “ensure that recipients are informed to the extent practicable given the applicable circumstances … That they have the option to accept or refuse the EUA product …”

In the same vein, when Dr. Amanda Cohn, the executive secretary of the CDC’s Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices, was asked if Covid-19 vaccination can be required, she responded that under an EUA, “vaccines are not allowed to be mandatory. So, early in this vaccination phase, individuals will have to be consented and they won’t be able to be mandatory.” Cohn later affirmed that this prohibition on requiring the vaccines applies to organizations, including hospitals.

The EUAs for both the Pfizer/BioNTech and Moderna vaccines require facts sheets to be given to vaccination providers and recipients. These fact sheets make clear that getting the vaccine is optional. For example, the one for recipients states that, “It is your choice to receive or not receive the Covid-19 Vaccine,” and if “you decide to not receive it, it will not change your standard of medical care.”

Those places cannot operate when so many are forced out.

Companies have large scale layoffs all the time and still press on with whoever is left. If they're only talking one or two or five percent then it won't be a major issue. Headcount is reduces and without all the costs of severance payments.
