It seems for a lot of Americans, that short drive from home to office may no longer happen very often.
Nor might the family drive to grandma's.
Or a trip to a football or basketball game.
Instead they'll apparently walk to a train station, get on and ride, then walk from the train station to their destination.
It's because President Biden is going to take "literally, millions of automobiles" off the road.
His comments came this week while he was promoting his big-spending, big-government agenda, and were captured by CNS News.
The report explained that "in his mind," if he gets Congress to approve his multi-trillion dollar spending packages, much will be solved.
"When the almost-79-year-old president finally got around to the main point – explaining the two 'infrastructure' bills Democrats want to pass simultaneously – he returned to the topic of train travel, which in his mind will take 'millions' of cars off the road," the report said.
"Both these bills are going to help us meet the moment on the climate crisis in a way that creates good jobs, makes us more economically competitive – $66 billion in passenger rail and freight rail," Biden claimed. "Why (do) I always talk about passenger rail and particularly high-speed rail? You realize the Chinese are now building another high-speed rail line that will go up to 300 miles per hour? You say, what difference does that make, Biden?"
He went on, "Well, guess what? If you can get on a train and go from here to Washington much faster than you can go in an automobile, you take a train, you take the train. We will take, literally, millions of automobiles off the road – off the road,...

I’m a bit farther out now. Seven miles to the nearest grocery store.
Damn, sure gonna lose some weight packing the groceries back that seven miles.
Well he’s gotten the trucks off the roads. We were driving up a major busy highway north of Atlanta to get apples yesterday and I suddenly realized there were no 18 wheelers. Once in awhile you would see one here or there. Usually they are thick going both ways.
"Nigel, not meat. It's not your birthday"
My nearest grocery store is 18 miles with 13 of them being gravel road with steep hills.
Think of the great shape you will be in walking 60 miles per day.
A nation only railfans could love. Unlike densely populated Europe (whose rail is STILL subsidized, as far as I know), we are still mostly scattered about, except on parts of the coasts and in other cities. Our rail would have to be even more subsidized, and heaven only knows how well it would actually work. Just look at Railhenge (California).
Agenda 21 outlines plans on herding us into densely populated urban jungles.
Those of us who survive the Great Reset, it turns out.
MY nearest train station is over 52 miles away.
Brandon says you’ll just have to move closer.
And Facebook is going a way too
How many in congress who are not owned by large corporations?
About twenty two miles away from me.🙄
Like to see him ride these trains first; and take Congress with him.

Trains are great for "Cargo" and "Wyoming Coal"
Look at a map of Amtrak routes. A huge proportion of the population lives several hours’ drive from the nearest Amtrak station. And a lot of Amtrak trains only come through one of the cities on their route once a day, which might be at 3 a.m. So using trains is vastly impractical for most Americans. And that’s just for long-distance travel. People will give up their cars for getting to work or getting to the store only at gunpoint (which may be Biden’s plan).
For I dipt into the future, far as human eye could see, saw the Vision of the world, and all the wonder that would be. Us common folk (”useless-eaters”) had been living far too high on the hog and destroying the environment so automobiles were restricted for the elite and nomanklatura, but public transportation made available for the “little people.” The world population was reduced to a half billion through abortions, starvation, special vaccines, created pandemics, and small local wars.
