Attorney General Merrick Garland basically admitted Thursday that the White House contacted the Justice Department about that odious letter from the National School Boards Association begging the feds to use the Patriot Act against “domestic terrorist” parents who raise questions about critical race theory being pushed in their kids’ schools.
This is outrageous, even though Garland fudged on whether it was at the White House’s behest that he issued his remarkable public guidance. He told federal prosecutors and the FBI to actively investigate threats or violence against school officials and/or boards, a dramatic display of intimidation.
There’s every reason to think it was the White House’s idea: Garland acted just days after the president’s office got the letter, which the NSBA’s top two leaders actually sent at the request of President Joe Biden’s aides after prior discussions on the issue.
After all, this is the same White House that ordered the Centers for Disease Control to let teachers-union boss Randi Weingarten dictate parts of their guidance on school masking. And that has embraced mandatory CRT training all across the federal government, including in the military.
Nor does the attorney general normally make a high-profile public announcement that he’s ordering his minions to get on top of a purely imaginary danger.

The issue was never dangerous parents; but squashing growing nationwide backlash of mask mandates, anti-white racism and anti-scientific gender fluidity propaganda being pushed on children.The issue is stopping a nascent movement of involved citizens similar to the Tea Party from forming ahead of the 2022 mid-term elections.
Democrats are afraid that if too many people see parents standing up to local school board tyrants, they will become emboldened in their own towns and follow the trend. The last thing that Democrats want heading into 2022 is a red wave of highly motivated "soccer moms" organizing around school issues that might nudge them to support the right next year.
The Democrats need to stop the optics of people rebelling against authority, even if that "authority" is the local school board. Just like how local Pennsylvania business woman Katy Abrams stood up at a 2010 Arlen Specter town hall and told him that "they woke up a sleeping giant, and we are tired of this," Terry McAuliffe's comment that “I’m not going to let parents come into schools and actually take books out and make their own decision... I don’t think parents should be telling schools what they should teach,” is going to reawaken that sleeping giant.
The Biden Administration's response is to sic the Justice Department and FBI on the parents the way that Obama sicced the IRS on the Tea Party groups to stop them from organizing their tax exempt 401(c)(4)s in time for the 2010 mid-terms.

It’s quite possible that there is not intent to bring charges, since a simple ‘visit’ from the FBI will silence 98% of parents.
Kind of like the mafia used to do. No need for violence, in the vast majority of the cases.

He really said that? If so, we have reached the precipice of absolute totalitarianism. The parents are exactly WHO should be telling what schools should teach. Another reason why I believe the Department of Education should be eliminated. The NEA can fumble around without that stupid cabinet level department.
Don't get me started on the Department of Transportation.
