The Washington, D.C., chapter of climate-activist organization Sunrise movement canceled its speaking appearance at a rally for D.C. statehood and federal voting legislation over Zionist Jewish groups’ participation in the event.
Sunrise DC cited the Jewish Council on Public Affairs, the National Council of Jewish Women, and the Religious Action Center of Reform Judaism as groups that support Zionism and the State of Israel in its withdrawal letter....
...“Given our commitment to racial justice, self-governance, and indigenous sovereignty, we oppose Zionism and any state that enforces its ideology,” the statement read.
The organization then accused Israel, which it called a “colonial project,” of illegally occupying Palestine ....

I have no problem with voting rights for DC. Do with the part of the district north of the Potomac exactly what happened to the part of the district south of the Potomac: retrocede it to the state that gave it up.

A minority of Jews are consistent Leftists. They hate the West and Israel.
A majority of Jews are Leftist Zionists. They hate the West but support Israel. For them it is very hard. They want to be friends with Leftists, but Leftists demand consistency and thus hate Leftist Zionists. And Leftist Zionists hate Conservatives who support Israel. Which leaves Leftist Zionists alone and friendless.
The idea of DC statehood is totally unconstitutional.

Y’know, the Russians (before USSR) staged a pogrom (one of many, truth be told) against Jews. It succeeded ‘cause the Jews in question decided to become the tax collectors for the Russian admin. This did not endear them to the populace that they then desperately needed to hide them during the pogrom(s).
If you make these sort of choices, regardless of justification, you will eventually pay. Hating the West is a choice.

I vaguely knew it was some sort of religious festival and had seen trick or treating in tv shows, but that’s it.
