Florida Agriculture Commissioner Nikki Fried announced Tuesday that six additional people have had concealed weapons licenses suspended because they were involved in the Jan. 6 storming of the U.S. Capitol.

But since Republicans like shooting themselves in their feet, I doubt it.
DeSantis should ask the Fla congress to fast-track a constitutional carry bill which he would sign.

Fried has also been a prominent lobbyist for the marijuana industry in the state of Florida.
For now, just have the AGs office look at the law that she’s using to do this and if she’s getting a bit “liberal” in using her discretionary powers.
Florida, if I’m not mistaken, passed a law a while back that greatly reduced the amount of time the state had to approve their CCWs and they had to pump a bunch of money into the office that processed the applications to adhere to that law due to the numbers the office was receiving.
I know in Georgia it was nothing to wait a month or two, back in the day. Now it’s about 2 weeks, even though they tell you it’ll be longer.

Matt Gaetz has hinted at running for this office rather than continuing in Congress in the future. That is probably a straighter line to Governor and who knows maybe even President one day. Main thing is to get creatures like this one out of office ASAP, and keep Florida as conservative as possible.
There was no storming of the U.S.Capitol. Certainly on January 6th there were no guns involved in that peaceful gathering of those seeking redress of grievances.
I guess I am wondering how in hell the agricultural commissioner has anything to do with concealed carry permits?
Why is an Agriculture Commissioner involved in granting/revoking CCW?

CCW permits are handled by Department of Agriculture in FL. I always just assumed that the legislature did this to keep it as far away from law enforcement as possible (see NJ where police chiefs have sole discretion to issue permits, so they simply don’t).

The Florida Constitution invests that power in SecAg. It’s a very powerful office. Most Floridians think it’s just about orange groves and cattle ranches.

She is running for Governor and is as liberal as they come. IF De Santis has cured the fraud in certain counties, she doesn’t stand a chance.
