Nearly 80 percent of Republicans want to see Trump run in 2024: poll

Nearly 80 percent of Republicans want to see former President Trump wage a third White House bid in 2024, according to a new Quinnipiac University survey released Tuesday.

Seventy-eight percent of Republicans polled said they think Trump should run again, while 16 percent said he should sit out the 2024 race. Meanwhile, 94 percent of Democrats and 58 percent of independents said Trump should not run.

The poll underscores the stubborn support Trump enjoys among the GOP base, backing that may be growing. Sixty-six percent of Republicans said in the same poll in May that Trump should run for the White House in three years.

The only reason Trump would loose is if the election is stolen again. In that case it doesn’t matter who our candidate is.

Thank you, thank you for a lucid post! Trump is an egomaniac who takes advice from all the wrong people, won’t admit when he’s been had, and is politically destroyed by the media in this country. We know on most issues he was a hundred percent right on all his key initiatives, but Trump won’t pull us out of this mess. Many of his knucklehead ideas helped put us here. Just as it took an Obama to give us Trump, it took Trump to give us Biteme.

Agree. That's the only reason he didn't 'win' in 2020.

“No one is going to beat President Trump for the Republican nomination when he runs.”

Agreed. Everyone seems to FORGET that President Trump BEAT seventeen of our ‘best and brightest’ ‘Republicans’ first time around. And since then, many of them have been exposed for the Quislings that they are! That didn’t happen by accident and it didn’t happen in a vacuum. Patriots were, and still ARE, hungry to MAGA. You all MUST agree that it was a fantastic four years, despite the grenades Socialist Democrats tossed at him (and US!) on a daily basis!

And, if he chooses, and he must, President Trump will do it all over again.

BUT - before we get too carried away, let’s just make sure that 2022 is a bloodbath for the Socialist Democrats everywhere they lurk. Give everything back to ‘We The People’ who had their president STOLEN from them!

Get busy, FRiends! I’m working on a new Governor for my state. See what you can do in yours! :)

I would like to see Trump primaried with Desantis, Cruz or Pompeo running.

I think Trump is too old but still could be useful as a vice president or as a business-tax type czar business type to save the nation’s finances. It simply has to do with his age. Now if he beats the tar out of the other candidates in a vigorous way then that would prove to me he still has the stuff! I would still vote for him even if the other candidates lost. We have great depth is all that I’m saying!

I want to see the oldsters above 76 years of age on both of sides of the aisle leave. The old hippies ae festering sores and are ruining this great nation!

You’ve got that so right. The reason the dems are not backing down on mandates etc...in spite of the fact of how it is hurting our economy....is that they are NO LONGER AFRAID of being voted out. Do nothing republicans in office want to keep their jobs.

Round ‘em up, Shooting ‘em up and let's see who survives and who doesn't.
Thin the herd, retain the survivors and let the re-population process begin.

The health departments represent 30% of the total U.S. population. Fifteen also report deaths.

Interestingly, the agency also breaks out case and death rates by vaccine product. In mid-August, at the peak of the latest wave, unvaccinated people made up the greatest percentage of COVID-19 cases, at an incident rate of 736.72 cases per 100,000 people.

Johnson & Johnson had the second-highest incidence rate, at 171.92 cases per 100,000.

Pfizer had the third-highest, at 135.64.

And Moderna had the lowest rate, at 86.28 cases per 100,000 people.

The death rate mirrored the breakdown in terms of vaccine product and frequency, although the numbers were far lower across the board.

Again, at the peak in mid-August, the death rate among unvaccinated people was 13.23 in 100,000 people.

Rates for vaccinated people were dramatically reduced, at 3.14, 1.43 and 0.73 for Johnson & Johnson, Pfizer, and Moderna, respectively.

When it came to age groups, peak case rates were highest among unvaccinated 12-17 year olds, followed by unvaccinated 30- to 49-year-olds. And 30- to 49-year-olds also had the highest case incidence among vaccinated people when broken down by age group, followed by fully vaccinated 18- to 29-year-olds.

Those older than 80 had the highest death rates among both unvaccinated and vaccinated individuals.

78% Republican support is pretty darn strong. It is unusually high going to primaries. I am not too worried about the majority of independents either. The independent voter will turn around. Biden and Harris do not have a majority of Independent approval.

I generally view independents as lacking principles. They are not conservatives. They are not far leftists. They are significantly influenced by media and lack the critical skills to think for themselves. For instance, they are for 'infrastructure spending' because they are told it is a good thing. They think compromise and bipartisanship are good things without understanding the effects of what Democrats consider infrastructure spending. So, they go along with social spending and green new deal crap, because the bait, 'infrastructure' is good and compromise is good.

Elections are more like a popularity contest to them. Issues are important because the way the media frames them or, and this is a big one, issues are are important when independents' lives are personally affected. The latter is rarely the case. Independents vote based on feelings and on issues that affect other people. This next election, they will be personally affected by issues. That will get through their thick skulls.

Inflation and shortages are things that directly affect individual lives. If those issues continue, and I suspect they will for quite sometime, then those issues become a priority. When an independent goes has to choose between Biden or Harris, who are the cause of personal woes, then Trump becomes obvious choice. Democrats need to get rid of Biden and Harris before 2024 if they want any chance of winning without cheating.

Running Trump on the GOP ticket will only ensure a Democrat in the WH again. Trump is not part of the political machine and will never get the machine’s support.
Running anyone else will only massively suppress the conservative vote.

Pretending anything else is just plain ol' stupidity.

You want to see the Demonrats cement their majorities both at the national level and increase dramatically their majorities in legislatures at the state level, run someone else besides President Trump.

Oh Trump is the man, I just don’t understand what went on.
We kept hearing from him and his team don’t worry we got this,we have them just were we want them and it just kept on month after month.
This is my thoughts I took three rounds in Nam been blown up cut up spit on stomped and cussed but we never turned back we kept pressing on going forward even when we had everything to lose because we had a Leader. That’s what I don’t undertstand.

Trump has said he is against the mandates. I just hope the bad side effects don’t begin happening until after he is elected.

Lying still after one illegal, banana-republic, stolen presidential election is one too
many. It’s the heights of folly to think Trump will be “elected” in ‘24. I’m of the opinion that Larry Elder received more votes in California. When the F B I and C I A are plotting against a sitting president and the D O J refused to act in the face of treason our proverbial goose is cooked. Lock and load.
