The Maryland couple accused of attempting to pass secret Navy secrets to a foreign government were indicted by a Grand Jury Tuesday on national security charges.
Jonathan and Diana Toebbe are both charged with one count of "Conspiracy to Communicate Restricted Data" and two counts of "Communication of Restricted Data," according to a Department of Justice press release Tuesday.
According to the release, 42-year-old Jonathan Toebbe sold "Restricted Data" concerning the design of nuclear-powered waships for almost a year with the help of his 45-year-old wife, Diana Toebbe. The couple sold the data to someone they thought was a representative of a foreign government, but who was an undercover FBI agent.
Jonathan Toebbe worked for the Department of the Navy as a nuclear engineer and held an active national security clearance, giving him access to the restricted data.
The indictment comes after Toebbe was arrested last week in West Virginia after placing a removable memory card at a prearranged "dead drop," the Justice Department said.
The FBI said the couple's scheme began in April 2020, when Toebbe sent a package with Navy documents to a foreign government and signaled his interest in selling the country sensitive information. He also provided instructions on how to arrange the secret exchange in a letter to the foreign government.

Who do they think they are?
Bill and Hillary Clinton?
Give them a fair trial with a vigorous defense, then execute them on Juneteenth, just like Julius and Ethel Rosenberg

I am always amused by this. Try going around saying you want to sell some weapons grade Plutonium. About 95% of the buyers in the market are intelligence agents who want you dead, after they get the plutonium, IF you actually have any, which you almost certainly don’t because you would realize quickly that you don’t want to be in the same county as someone who has illicit plutonium.
Been posted MANY times previously.
Cuff em to the deck and submerge.
Actual Fakebook profile pic of Diana.
And there you have it.
When does the entrapment defense come, although the one thing you can't defend is removing classified info from an authorized location and moving it to an unauthorized location.
There are very strict rules for handling classified info. None of which include the freedom to share anything outside your office, let alone foreigners.
The vast majority of people living in the DC metro (Md, Northern VA, and Eastern WV) are Leftists first — above and beyond any thought of loyalty to country. This is hardly surprising. It is so concentrated that government employees and contractors will receive reinforcement for disloyalty...as long as the disloyalty supports the leftist agenda.
It is beyond time to close down the DC metro area as the seat of government and distribute the government functions all over the country.
Yes, but FBI agents have clearances so you haven’t actually disclosed classified information to a person not authorized to receive it. In fact, the FBI agent is authorized to try to pay for it.
Nothing to say about these traitors, but I feel immense sadness for their children. What an awful burden for a child to carry.
