Freak Out as Conservatives Exit Public Schools, Abandon Reform

The totalitarian-minded education establishment and its extreme left-wing allies are starting to freak out as conservatives abandon futile efforts to “reform” government schools in favor of a mass-exodus strategy. Even powerful union bosses are starting to panic.

The trend has been building quietly for years. But it has accelerated rapidly in recent months as a trickle of families fleeing the system became a tidal wave amid face-mask edicts, vaccine mandates, Critical Race Theory, Marxist indoctrination, extreme “sex education,” and other controversies.

The first major shoe to drop in response came on September 30, when the fringe left-wing magazine New Republic released a major article claiming Republicans were now out to destroy the public-school system instead of “reform” it.

“Republicans Don’t Want to Reform Public Education. They Want to End It,” blared the headline in the far-left magazine, famous for lying about and even praising the mass-murdering Soviet dictatorship. “Florida’s recent struggles over masks in schools augur a terrifying shift in the right’s approach to education policy.”

According to the article, conservatives are increasingly abandoning the idea of “reforming” public schools. Instead, the article argues, the new approach is to get as many children as possible out of the system and into private schools or homeschooling.

As long as property taxes continue to fund the schools, they wont be very hurt...Funding depending on numbers of students may drop, but the main revenue will continue because you don’t get to opt out.

At least in this neck of the woods...

A few years ago I talked my sister into moving her very bright son to a private school.

There isn’t a week that goes by that she doesn’t say “BEST decision I’ve ever made.”

Although this phenomenon has been going on for a while the acceleration of it and the other now clear examples of resistance from our forces on the right can in my opinion be credited to President DJ Trump and his ability to take it to the Left without fear of personal consequence.

He has showed us the way to fight and it is now up to each and every one of us do do his/her part in staying the course he has set us on.

The phrase “You can lead a Horse to water but cannot make him drink” comes to mind.

Same here. You pay for public schools no matter what. However, the fewer students there are the fewer teachers are needed.

No problem with private schools. I really hate paying for the public propaganda mills.

In the Northeast most of the private schools are even more leftist.

If we don’t start voting down school tax proposals or don’t start voting out the people on our school boards, I see no reason why the liberals should be terrified.

Not institutionally, at least. But individual teachers will be hurt in the long run.

If this trend continues (which, I hope it does), classes will get smaller. And as administrators always seek to reduce operating costs, classes will combine and teachers will be furloughed.

This trend is similar with the 1960s when it was decided that black children could only learn if sitting next to white children. The solution, bus children from the inter city to suburban schools and bus children from the suburbs to the inter city. Result - white flight! Whites abandoned those districts that did this. Final results, bad schools for all.

The left made a tactical mistake when they closed public schools and forced parents to home school their children. Many discovered that it was doable. So why send their children back into the indoctrination centers?

where I live every elementary school lost 200-300 students per school. Permanmently. Some went to private school, some homeschooled, and some moved to adjacent counties that didn’t close down schools.

LOTS of teachers and staff are losing jobs. Sooooo sad.... NOT

The virtual classroom of the pandemic has a lot to do with it also. People seeing and hearing what’s being taught their children, and even more their grandchildren, are not pleased at all...and they’re making their displeasure known.

One key factor was that the suspicion toward homeschooling and remote learning was lifted for COVID. Parents of homeschooled and remote learning students are also bosses who now know the value in comparison to government indoctrination centers and hire accordingly.

They are not panicking. More money less work.

In general, for every student that is withdrawn from the publik skool system, state funding decreases.
