Illinois State Police and the Illinois Emergency Management Agency are making plans to send additional law enforcement personnel to Chicago in the event a shortage of city police officers leads to dangerous situations.
WGN Investigates has learned a coordinator from the Illinois Law Enforcement Alarm System (ILEAS) sent an email to a dozen police officials from Kankakee to Barrington asking them to ask members of their specialized units whether they would be willing to respond to critical situations in Chicago – and how quickly they could get there.

Ha.
See how things escalate in an urban emergency?
Yep... I agree.
Suburbs keep things under control. Why go into the inner
city they have utterly destroyed?
Let Light in the Loafers do it.
She and her city council can man the streets.
Let them fix what they helped to create.
Given the Rules of Engagement in Chicago under Lightfoot, I wouldn’t even consider doing that. At least not until after she pulls her head out of her butt.
No. There is no upside to this. It will only set a precedent and expectation that you will become their cushion. They will crucify you at any opportunity if you make their department look bad. You are leaving your own jurisdictions with less coverage. No. In fact h**l no.
Hmmm . . . A battle between the administration and your brother LEOs. And they’re asking you to support the administration to weaken the Police union. I’m thinking the answer is a big “Let’s go, Brandon.”
The replies to this request will be epic, if we ever get to see any.
Mayor Groot is almost universally despised by the local cops around here. The chance of any significant number of them doing this is just about zero.

From the site:
“I will not send my personnel to Chicago unless an officer is under direct duress because I cannot support this slanted agenda,” Kane County Sheriff Ron Hain told WGN Investigates. “I also will not allow my deputies to be subjected to use of force in the City and be under the prosecutorial jurisdiction of the Cook County State’s Attorney.”
My girlfriend was married to a man who was chief of police of Evanston for many years. Not happening.
Roads in southern Illinois are some of the worst I’ve ever driven.
Why? Cause most Illinois tax monies go to Chicago.
Hey Chicago, F-you.
I’ve been to Kankakee and Barrington. It’s not happening.
So as a taxpayer in one of those outlying suburban areas, I am being expected pay for Lori Lightfoot’s stupidity? And get shortchanged on the police protection for which I pay? Swell :(
Perhaps she could give up her own personal taxpayer funded police detail in order to protect the City?
Suburban cops should tell ChiTown NO!
Aw hell nah... Let that s hole burn. They voted for Beetlejuice, they can have Beetlejuice.
Volunteer?
They deserve combat pay at the very least.
And they’d be crazy to even consider it.
Cordon off the city for a few weeks, nothing gets in or out, and then go in and see what’s left.
Thanks.
Doesn’t surprise me. We’ll see a lot of that > IMO.
Your opinion also I’m sure.
Correction:
Deal with what’s left. Not see what’s left.
Those suburban officers wouldn’t also happen to be union members, would they? Because if they are, that’s going to be a bit of a problem, isn’t it?
Perhaps it will be better to let Chicago finish destroying itself. If only as a warning to the several dozen other cities on similar suicidal paths
