He was George W. Bush’s liberal in office. I NEVER like him. I loved Stormin’ Norman. But, truly disliked Powell. I retired a year after the first Gulf War. So, he was around during my final year(s) of service. I knew officers who didn’t like him either. Many saw him as a political general, not a soldier’s soldier. He was a Nam vet and fought there. But, somewhere along his path, he got politicalized.

Norman DID the First Gulf War. Not the political general Powell. Powell passed on Bush I’s orders, but Norman fought the war. I seem to remember Norman told them he was not playing Vietnam games again. Give him the mission and get the hell out of his way. Norman did the job. Troops loved the guy. He was for the troops. He also never took a position in government like Powell. Didn’t Bush maybe offer Norman Sec Def and he turned it down. Something in there about something like that. But, it has been 30+ years now and my hard drive dudden go that far back.

I do suspect the falls were related to the vaccine. She otherwise doesn’t have a history of falls, and the doctors all marveled at how healthy she is. At a minimum, the Moderna vaccine causes fatigue. I think a super-elderly person will underestimate weakness and fatigue caused by the vaccine, as opposed to general daily senior weakness and fatigue.
