Portland, Oregon, businesses and residents may be at the mercy of rioters and looters, but it’s not because their police don’t want to do anything.
It’s that they can’t.
According to KOIN-TV, the Portland Police Bureau told residents of the city’s downtown Pearl District that their hands were tied during a riot this past week that caused a half-million dollars worth of damage. The culprit? Democrats in the state legislature who limited their ability to use crowd dispersal tactics.
In a media release, the PPB said “around 100 anarchists caused substantial damage to businesses and government buildings in downtown Portland Tuesday night.

The Democrat Party promotes anarchy by a few in order to justify draconian restrictions on the entire population.
I am serious. You know the way they name the forest fires (”wildfires” now) in CA to let people understand which one was approaching which area of homes?
We need that for the riots. I first thought it was one of the 2020 riots (which one????) but then they said “last week.”
The very few court case results in the news could be distinguished from others that way, too. Along with “no one will face prison time for riots.” Except Kyle. Or January 6th.
Perhaps if someone started spreading rumors that there were Jan 6 “insurrectionists” in the crowd the PoPo would be permitted to do something about it.

None of the rioters were arrested because none of them were wearing MAGA hats.
Well, no.
You see if you shoot someone in commission of a crime (rioting) that is legally distinct from shooting someone not in commission of a crime (laying there, bleeding, and twitching).
It’s like shooting a burglar in your house, who may be said to represent a reasonable threat to your life, person or property … you simply do not know what their intent is … but once that burglar has left and is running down the street he may have your TV but unless he’s shooting at you or someone else you are no longer acting in defense of any life.
Clearly, then, the need is for improved marksmanship.
But that aside, when it comes to rioters I will repeat what I’ve occasionally said: if you anticipate that you may need to rely on your neighbors in circumstances of mutual defense against a violent rabble it is very important that you are part of a group with some cohesion. This means principally three things: first some level of training together even if it’s only going to the gun range so that you may have some confidence and trust in each other (actually, other non militia-like sort of just being neighbors who get along is more important); second there needs to be clear mutually agreed on rules of engagement to protect everyone in your neighborhood from putting themselves in harms way needlessly as well as give everyone some sense of what the rest will do or not do; finally there needs to be a plan to improve your chances … everything from building movable barriers in advance to control ways you’ll be approached to making sure there will be communication to having folks with drones to both provide situational awareness and to provide evidence for use later to back up your claims that they actually were rioters as well as be used to help identify and dox any rioters.
The best way to not have to deal with rioters is for the rioters to know they’re outmatched … that’s why AntiFa stay in cities like Seattle where they feel safe.

Assuming House Bill 2928 passed the House and the Senate and was signed by the governor, then the “people” of Portland, Oregon and Oregon in general spoke!
So, let the riots begin! The hell with them. MOVE! ....if you can’t take it anymore.
