The core problem, I think, is that this wasn’t newly-elected president Joe Biden’s FBI, trying to take down Donald Trump and anyone who supported him. Not at all.

“Draining the Swamp” is certainly hard when it comes to clearing out the House and Senate. But more effort should have been made to purge the bureaucracy. Yeah, I know, the government unions are powerful. But look at Biden’s vaccine mandate. You can do this stuff if you want to. Open up a branch office for the FBI in Greenland, and transfer the top 20% of the FBI members there, in wretched conditions. What? They’d prefer to resign? OK.
Like any other government agency, they have to justify their existence. And, they will do anything it takes.
