Joe Biden was being taunted online on Thursday with the hashtag 'Empty Shelves Joe', as frustrated shoppers complained about shortages of products in their local stores, and concern grew about possible Christmas shortages.
Twitter users posted pictures of empty shelves at stores around the country, as the nations supply chain crisis continued.
Biden on Wednesday acknowledged the concerns. 'With the holidays coming up, you might be wondering if gifts you plan to buy will arrive on time?

What you are seeing has been in the smaller areas of the US for months.
Just wait. A local walmart removed a good portion of their shelving because they no longer have any products. Grocery stores have meat (locally sourced more and more), but things like fruit? Nope. No longer available.

I have a close friend who is a high level scheduler for a nationwide trucker/transport service, and he says the whole problem is a lack of drivers. He said there’s not one single reason for the shortage, but there’s no end in sight, either. He says his job has turned into a nightmare, whereby he used to have stable routes and reliable pickup points, but now everything is ad hoc, with him having to make changes to the routes almost 24/7. The one good thing, for him, is his commissions have apparently gone up. A lot.
